2. Process
I used the stroke tool to define my masthead in the best way. At first I was experimenting with
the definition of the outline and how thick and opaque I wanted it. In the end I kept it a small
but strong outline to define the masthead as much as I could but to also keep the colour scheme
visible and professional.
3. Process
I used the rectangle shape tool to create the main yellow square as it was the easiest way to
get the correct . After that I then used a second rectangle tool to make the arrow. I used this
shape as the base. I then got two guide lines and drew the two arrow lines manually. I then
filled in the front of the arrow with a red paint brush. This worked and got me the shape I
wanted however changing the opacity on the arrow was difficult as I had some parts of the
arrow guidelines very bright and visible at one point. This was because my drawing were
slightly off at points so stood out. I fixed this by erasing all the loose bits and then I could
use the opacity tool however I wanted. I put the opacity down on the image to blend the
colours into the background more and bring the strong bright colours down more so that
the audience don’t immediately see this part as it was too bright when I first coloured it.
4. Process
I made the number 10 bigger than the
other font to look more aesthetic and
professional. I did this by making the
number 10 a separate layer. I then
made a second text layer and placed
the text around the number. I then
linked all the layers and set the text to
the right of the page. This finished off
the text and fully furnished it to the
best standard it could be.
5. Process
I used a word document to write out
my double page spread before putting
it into photoshop. I did this because if I
made any mistake writing it up in
photoshop then I may not have been
able to identify it. Writing in word helps
to check for any spelling or grammar
mistakes that I could have made and
then I could correct them easily. Ones I
had written out all of my double page
spread I copied everything I wrote and I
pasted it into photoshop. All I had to do
was separate the writing off into
columns and my double page spread
article text was completed.
6. Process
Process
I used a drop caps in my double page spread to clearly show the reader where my
article starts. I did this by creating a separate layer for the letter N and moving the
rest of the text to fit around it. I used a second text box to get the 2 rows of other
letters around the drop caps letter and then I used a final text box to paste the
rest of the text in the column. I then completed the article with the columns I
needed in the correct places.
7. Process
Process
I placed my images near columns of text that associated with them as it shows the
audience what I am talking about. I also signed off some photos with who took them
to show the audience if it is my own work or another photographer. The majority of
pictures were mine however I did use one other photographer in my article.
