As a senior mentor I am responsible for the development of teaching, training coaching and management of the School-Based
Mentors and teachers in primary and secondary schools in career and professional development (On-job training and
education) to use English language for teaching which requires me to ensure the successful delivery of the training through the
effective management of all the resources made available, that’s, human, material, capital and time resources. This I do
through effective planning, effective implementation and effective management of my teams via cascade approach of training
2. delivery. I am also required to take a pro-active role both internally and externally in promoting advocacy for English learning
the values that it brings to the individuals, the community and the society as a whole. The purpose is to ensure motivated and
effective learning while using English as a medium of instruction, mean whilst continually monitoring the quality of teaching
and learning across the curriculum in line with the country’s quality assurance and enhancement policies and procedures.
In 2014, British Council Rwanda gave me a challenge of developing plans and delivery trainings to the selected team School-
Based Mentors and the teachers of the selected schools on the pilot study using Blended approach. This approach used audio
materials (Cell phones and loud speakers, Life players and CD-cards); trained mentors and Print material (Modules) to teach
Classroom Language for English as a Medium of Instruction-CLEMI which as part of annual end-line study evaluation report
scored 99.97% from teachers for the teaching methods used that were effective in helping learners learn English faster, 98.28
% for feedback given to students on their work and 99.98% for overall quality of the learning materials and course satisfaction
from students.

Education Assistant II; Bugiri District Local Government, Eastern Uganda.
Ministry of Education and Sports, Kampala-Uganda; May, 2001 to May, 2012.
In this position of education assistant II, I was responsible for teaching and learning activities in the classroom where by my
role was that of planning and implementing like any other teacher. These activities included careful selection of relevant but
appropriate methodologies that are suitable for the learners learning of the intended subject matter by setting SMART
objectives. The whole thing boils around knowing a head of time; What the students would be learning; How they would learn
it; What we’d use to help them learn it; When they would learn; Why they’d learn it and How we would measure that they have
learned it. This considerable experience coupled with commitment and self- drive to work guides me to draw an education
philosophy,” How well we teach them, is how well they learn.” This also helped me to reduce school drop out of students to
almost zero. Whilst in this position, I was appointed at the school level to head an English Language department and overall
in-charge Academics where by my roles and responsibilities were promoting team work spirit; Monitor, Supervise and Motivate
the staff to teach; I was responsible for talent mobility of the teachers to improve effectiveness and efficiency at work; Approve
