Introduction
• In this section we are going to discuss about
the Parle products. As we know that in the
world of biscuits, candies and toffees the
most popular name is Parle. Here, we also
going to introduce you with the history,
future planning, and marketing strategies.

History
 Parle Products company was founded in 1929 in British
India. It was owned by the Chauhan family of Vile Parle,
Mumbai. Parle began manufacturing biscuits in 1939. In
1947, when India became independent, the company
launched an ad campaign, showcasing its Gluco biscuits
as an Indian alternative to the British biscuits.[2] The Parle
brand became well known in India following the success
of products such as the Parle-G biscuits and the Thums Up
soft drink.

• As we know that parle is no. 1 seller of biscuits. Out of
total share of market parle’s share is:
1. 45% share of market is occupied by parle biscuits.
2. 35% share of market is occupied by Britannia biscuits.
3. Rest of 20% share of market is occupied by other
brands like sun feast(ITC).
4. In case of confectionary it has 15% share in the
market.
Marketing strategies
• To promote their products, parle’s management staff adopt
some marketing strategies. These are as follows:
1. Pricing strategies: all the products of parle in the market
sold at a very reasonable price which help them to promote
their products.
2. Advertising strategies: to promote their product parle use
several advertising methods.
3. Extra packages: after regular time intervals parle gives
attractive offers on their products, which helps the
management in increasing their sales.
Preparation procedure
• In the formation of parle biscuits, parle manufacturing
unit has to follow several stages. These steps are as follow:
1. Receiving raw material
2. Storage of raw material
3. Mixing of raw material
4. Dough preparation
5. Maudling and cutting
6. Baking
7. Cooling
8. Stacking

• As per the surveys parle is largest selling biscuits and many
other products also. It is best in its quality. It has
reasonable price and easily available in the market. All

  • 4. History  Parle Products company was founded in 1929 in British India. It was owned by the Chauhan family of Vile Parle, Mumbai. Parle began manufacturing biscuits in 1939. In 1947, when India became independent, the company launched an ad campaign, showcasing its Gluco biscuits as an Indian alternative to the British biscuits.[2] The Parle brand became well known in India following the success of products such as the Parle-G biscuits and the Thums Up soft drink.
