The Royal Bank of Scotland (Formerly ABN AMRO Bank)
Chicago, IL
Senior Technical Business Analyst /Vice President
2006 - Present
The Royal Bank of Scotland is the largest bank in the U.K. and acquired ABN AMRO in
2008. I work in the Global Transaction Services group on the award winning Trade Finance
platform; MaxTrad.
Documented the business case, gained approval and defined the requirements for the
bank's Document Checking product. I led the project to commercialize the product and
utilize it for the direct presentation of letters of credit, saving clients both money and time
while increasing the bank revenue. Grew the product to over $25M in just over 3 months.
Led the bank’s efforts to meet Federal Financial Institution Examinations Council (FFIEC)
guidelines and recommendations. I documented the business case, defined the
requirements, worked across various areas of the bank to ensure a solution was
consistent with the other bank’s online channels that would satisfy the FFIEC mandate.
Implemented a standard file template process which eliminated the need to develop
custom solutions for clients who exchangedata files with the bank. This effort saved the
bank over $600,000 per year in development and testing costs.
Led the trade group's efforts to develop a joint cash / trade integration of cash and trade
applications.
Through diligent client service and proactive issue resolution, I played a key role in the
contract renewal of the bank’s largest U.S. Financial Institution partner. My name was
mentioned in the negotiation process as a key reason for the renewal decision. This
contract was worth over $11M.
Successfully led the migration of over 50 of the bank's trade clients from an internal File
Transfer Protocol (FTP) service provider to an external service provider without incident.
Fulfilled the role of project manager, implementation manager and test manager. Worked
directly with the development team and clients.
Coordinated and managed all Trade Channel online penetration testing efforts. Worked
towards classifying and resolving all high and urgent issues. Through diligent penetration
testing and management, our proprietary trade system has never experienced a breach
in security, fraudulent transaction or loss of funds.
