1. Radio show review
Our show was suitable for our target audience because we used new and old hits and we
made sure the playlists were good and the chat was current news. The technical quality of
our radio show was good we faded the songs and jingles in and out well we just needed to
turn up the volume as the sound levels where slightly out on one of the mics. This issue has
been brought up with the media technician who is attempting to correct the problem with the
software for next time we need to keep a closer eye on the output levels on the announces
desk. Our chat only included us announcing the previous song or the next song, the chat
that we did was a bit boring, In the next show we would need to plan the chat so were feel
more confident so we our chat doesn’t sound forced, we also will need to play the start of a
song in the background of our chat or song announcements so it sounds like there is more
going on. I think that the way we faded the songs and jingles together was really good as
there was no dead air in the transition.
Overall we think the song selection for the whole show was probably the strongest pat of the
show and the chat element was probably the area that needs the most improvement. To do
this we will need to do more planning and preparation and be a bit more relaxed and casual
when conversing with each other. Another area where I could improve would be to get more
involved with the college radio.
