1. Analysis of my School Based
Contents Page
Done by Eman Shah
2. I have placed the masthead on
the contents page as well because
it makes the page look
sophisticated and it will remind
the reader what magazine they
are reading.
Heading – ‘SALT’S ALERT
CONTENTS 2014’ is clearly placed
at the top of the page, informing
the reader that this is what the
page is for. If it was not there then
maybe it would be hard to tell
what the page was for. The font
use is black and is bold, the colour
of the font looks serious which
makes it look formal as it is a
school based contents.
Layout – The format is very clear. I
think this is good as it will allow the
reader to navigate through the
magazine easily. This is suitable for
the target audience who are students
from the school, as the wont be
wanting to waste time.
The colour scheme is in black
and white which makes the page
look very simple and more
focused. The black writing on the
white background looks striking,
so it will be appropriate for all
the students.
These are called the sub images, I
have taken the photograph’s which
makes them original. In the first
picture you can see a sixth form girl,
she is dressed very smart which I
think makes the school environment
stand out and look smart itself. In the
second picture that I have taken you
can see two boys walking down the
stairs talking to each other. They are
both sixth form students as well
because of the way they are dressed
(smart). They are wearing their
student lanyards which will show to
the reader that they are students
from the school. The first boy is of a
white ethnicity and the second boy is
of an Asian ethnicity. This will show
that the school is of multiethnic
backgrounds, which will look good if
people are wanting to apply to this
school.
I have put the slogan here as
well because I would like the
reader to remember the slogan
for a long time.
