This PhD research proposal examines containment and closure technologies used in Iran from the Neolithic to Bronze Age. The proposal seeks to study and compare container assemblages on different scales to assess their uses and shed light on early highland communities. By focusing on attributes like capacity, closeability and portability, the study will analyze how containers were involved in taskscapes and examine their changing roles in the political economies of these communities.
