2. NEED OF REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH
A male or female having
reproductive capacity is a potential
mate. It is the stage of utmost
importance as they will have high levels
of sex hormones, have to produce
offspring and the female may be
pregnant, hence the health in this
period should be completely supporting
this is called as reproductive health.
3. PROBLEMS & STRATAGIES FOR
PROPER REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH
Family Planning :- started in 1951 to
achieve total reproductive health.
Maternal Health :- pregnancy before 18
year age is risky for both mother and
infant. At least two to three year gap is
necessary before going to second
pregnancy.
Medical Care :- quality care from skilled
doctors is essential before, during and
after pregnancy and child birth.
4. Awareness :- overall awareness of
reproductive health from all possible
sources in needed.
Sex Education :- needed to avoid myths
and misunderstandings of reproductive
health.
Access to Reproductive Health :- all types
of access should be available at possible
nearness and effective cost.
Birth Control Devices :- knowledge and
easy availability is needed.
5. Prevention of Sex Abuse and Sex Crimes
:- can be controlled by proper public
awareness and law and order.
Misuse of Amniocentesis :- it is the
method of sex determination of foetus. It
helps in detecting some problems as may
be in foetus but it is legally banned to
overcome female foeticide.
6. Population grow in geometric but food
supply in arithmetic progression. After
some time it create an imbalance in
population and environment. When it
reaches a critical level, some factors as
hunger, epidemics etc. will bring population
to a desired level. This is called
CATASTROPHIC CONTROL. These factors
were called positive checks by him.
