ThenI presenttoday’s topic:“Fruitsandvegetables”.I askchildren if theylike fruitsand
vegetables (maybe askingquestionspersonally,like:“doyoulike bananas…?”).ThenIaskthem to
name as many fruitsastheyknowin English.Iwill dothe same withvegetables.Iwillexplainthe
meaningof the unknownwords.
Transition:Ok,nowlet’sdoa simple survey.

Activity 1: Survey about likes and dislikes
Purpose:toworkwith “I like/don’tlike”sentences andquestions.Toenhance interpersonal
intelligence. Toimprove speakingskills.
Timing:20 minutes
I give a surveytoeach studentwiththe followingformat:

manypeople aspossible inthe assignedamountof time (15minutesorless),sotheyshoulddoit
fast.

5. Purpose:toworkon children’s visual andinterpersonal skills. Toacquire new vocabularyand
consolidate previousknowledge.
Timing:35 minutes
I ask childrenif they everplayedbingoortheyknow how toplayit. Afterthis,Idescribe the game
and give the properinstructionstoplayBingo. Iwill handa bingoboardlike thistoeach student:

6. One dice contains the fruits/vegetables thatappearonthe toprow and the other dice contains
the fruits/vegetables thatappearonthe leftcolumn.
Studentswill take turnstoroll the dices.Iwill give the dicestothe studentinthe correct orderand
aftereach roll I will saysomethinglike:“Whatisthis?Do you remember?”(Elicitanswers) inorder
to encourage childrentosaythe name of the fruit/vegetable thatcame out.If theystill don’t
rememberIwill askif anyone knowsthe name of the fruit/vegetable inEnglish. ThenIwill ask
everyone:“Doyouhave a strawberry/kiwi/tomatoetc.onyourboard?” AndI will dothe same
withthe followingdice.
If theyhave both items,the studentsfollow the twoitemswhere theymeetandplace a mark in
that square.If theyget4 ina rowtheywin and shout:Bingo!
The game seemsmore difficultthan it is. I think these studentswill be able to understand the
game while playingsince I will be guidingthe whole game.

by me.

Activity 3: Crazy fruits
Purpose:topractice memory and colours.Towork on children’sartisticskills.Toimprove listening
skills.
Timing:20 minutes
In thisactivity,studentshave to payattention tothe story in orderto paint. I askthemto keep
everythingbuttheirnotebooks andpencils forthistask. First, Iwill saythe name of some fruits

Story:
In the world upsidedown,fruitswentcrazy!
The bananasarenowred,
Pearsare blue,
The applesand strawberriesare green!
And the little grapesare orangeand yellow.
The story will be readtwice ormaybe three times. Once theyall finish, Iwill checktheirdrawings.

Transition:Goodjobeverybody! Now keepyourthings, it’salmosttime togohome.
Closure:
Purpose:tosay goodbye.
Timing:10 minutes
Aftera while, Itell the studentsthattheirdrawingsare reallybeautiful andIenjoyedplayingwith
them. ThenI ask themwhatwas the bestpart of the classfor them.Thenwe all say goodbye:
