it is congenital problem,it can caused by the any altration during embroyonic development ,and mother take strees,it can prevented by the preconception and during pregnancy

It is also called as congenital aganglionic
megacolon .
It occurs due to congenital absence of the
parasympathetic ganglionic nerve cells .
Both in muscle layer or submucosal layer of
distal colon and rectum ,which result in
extreme dilation of the colon .

4. CLINICAL MANIFESTATION
IN NEONATES
The symptoms appear at birth of within 7 days .
Delayed passage of meconium .
No passage of meconium in the first 2 days of life .
Bile stained or fecal vomiting
Abdominal distension and constipation .
Some times ,overflow type of diarrhea and
dehydration .
Features of intestinal obstruction or failure to thrive.
5. IN OLDER CHILDREN
The symptoms are not prominent at birth.
Short segment disease is more common .
Intractable constipation
Adnominal distension
Visible peristaltic activity .
Anorexia
Abdominal discomfort
Irritability and constipation
Diarrhea alternating
Constipation with ribbon like
