with the Fiberglass
Fabrics. This makes
the fire blanket highly

fires quickly. This is
highly useful to reduce
the chances of, high-
level burns and the
spreading of the fire. It
also can withstand
high temperatures or
up to 600°C and can
be used to escape
indoor fires.

11. Welding blanket specification is as provided below:
 The welding fire blanket material used can withstand an
upper limit of 1650°C and provides a continuous protection of
up to 1260°C
 The edges are stitched with brass eyelets and high-
temperature Kevlar or Fiberglass sewing threads
 Does not contain asbestos

12. • Welding Blanket Selection can be done as below:
• Light Duty Welding Blankets: Suited for light welding splatter these welding
blankets are made with 0.5 mm Fiberglass or Silicone Coated
Fiberglass fabrics certified to EN 1869, IS11871, ISO 6940 and ISO 6941
giving temperature resistance upto 550°C.
• Medium Duty Welding Blankets: Suited for Welding splatter and molten
metal spark protection in closer proximity and greater intensity then the
above these blankets are therefore made with 1.00 mm Fiberglass or
Silicone Coated Fiberglass certified to various fire tests.

• Heavy Duty Welding Blankets: These are suited for temperature
resistance upto 1000°C where extreme welding spark and molten metal
splash protection is needed and therefore they are made with Vermiculite
Coated High Silica fabrics in either 0.7 mm or 1.4 mm thickness certified to
IS11871, ISO 6940, ISO 6941, JIS A1323 Welding tests, NES807 Welding tests
ISO 9185 Molten metal tests at 1300°C. For extreme heavy duty welding
protection upto 1260°C, Ceramic Fire blankets of 3.2 mm thickneness

15. • Silicone Coated Fiberglass Fabric
• Silicone Fiberglass helps greatly in heat
insulation
• Even though Silicone Fiberglass has
high strength, it is flexible and soft
• The silicone coated fiberglass fabric is
chemical, oil and water resistant
• The fabric is resistant to oxygen, ozone
and light
• Silicone Fabric can be single or double
sided coated
• Maximum temperature resistance is
550°C with constant protection provided
for up to 250°C
• Available in shiny or matt finish
• Regular colours include red, grey and
black
• The thickness varies between 0.5 mm up
to 2.5 mm

• It can be used for:
 Welding blankets
 Gasketing
 Expansion joints
 Insulation
 Heat shields
 Fire blankets used in emergencies

• The vermiculite
coated ceramic
blanket with SS
wire is used
in welding
safety to protect
industry workers
and equipment
from welding
sparks, heat and
molten metal.

19. Ceramic Fire Blanket
• The welding fire blanket material used can withstand
an upper limit of 1260°C and has a melting point of
1650°C
• The edges are stitched with fiberglass tape along
with high temperature Kevlar thread and brass
eyelets are provided at regular intervals from each
other.
• Does not contain asbestos.
• The ceramic fire blanket is certified to IS 11871 fire
tests.
• The ceramic fabric with vermiculite coating
reinforced with SS wire weighs 1500-1600 gsm and
has a thickness of 3.2 mm.
• Ceramic fabric has a thermal conductivity of less
