2. KINESICS
Kinesics is the study of body’s physical movements.
It is the way the body communicates without words
,i.e., through the various movements of its parts.
Kinesics is the interpretation of body languages such
as facial expression and gestures or all non verbal
behavior related to body movements.
3. BODY LANGUAGE
Body language includes every aspects of our appearance
a. what we wear
b. How we stand ,look and move
c. facial expression and physical habits
d. our use of space and gestures are the key indicators .

5. PERSONAL APPERANCE
Personal appearance includes cloths ,hair, accessories
and so on.
Choice of clothes reveals a lot about the wearer’s
personality and attitude.
Appearances communicate how we feel about
ourselves and how we want to be viewed.
6. POSTURE
Posture generally refers to the way we hold ourselves when we
stand ,sit ,or walk
Appropriate posture and body movements reflect positive
personality traits such as maturity ,confidence, alertness ,and
fitness e.g-
• Slumped posture – low sprit
• Erect posture - high spirits ,energy, and confidence
• Lean backward - defensive or disinterested
• Crossed arm - defensive and not ready to listen
• Uncrossed arm – willingness to listen
7. GESTURE
Gesture refers to the use of fingers ,hands and arms
Gesture reveals the mindset of the the communicator
Some of the example of gesture are as follow
o enumerative—numbers
o Descriptive-- size of object
o Symbolic – abstract concept
o Locative-- location of an object
o Emphatic – emphasis
8. FACIAL EXPRESSION
Facial expression refers to the use of eyes, eyebrows, forehead , and mouth for
expression .
Facial expression normally show how we feel .
Facial expression easily reveals our emotions like
Happiness
Surprise
Disgust
Fear
Anger
sadness
9. EYE CONTACT
The way a person observes or looks at the
audience while speaking or listening .
Good or positive eye contact improves the
effectiveness of a verbal message during
oral interaction .
Eyes are considered to be the windows of
the soul .
Eyes are also a rich source of feedback .
We look at the eyes of a speaker to find out
the truthfulness of his/her words ,
intelligence ,attitudes ,and feelings .
