Body language plays an essential role in communication and presentations. It can help evaluate audience interest and make presentations more engaging. Speakers should stand up straight with their feet shoulder-width apart, use positive gestures like nodding and eye contact, and avoid negative gestures like fiddling or looking away. Facial expressions also communicate feelings and each body part movement conveys specific meanings, so body language must be used appropriately and consistently to support the message.
2. A presentation is the process of
presenting a topic to the audience. It
is typically a demonstration,
introduction, lecture or speech
meant to be informed, persuade or
build goodwill..
3. Body language plays an essential role in
communicating with people. Body language
comprises of the gestures and movements we make
of the different parts of our body when
communicating with people. Many a times, body
language speaks more than words. Certainly, the
body language must be in synch with the words.

evaluate the interest of people.
2) It can make communication interesting
and non monotonous.

8. • A speaker’s posture gives the audience a good idea
of his state of mind. Slouching and slumping makes
you seem weak and ineffectual, and will cause the
audience to lose interest in what you have to say.
• Your stance is also an important part of posture.
Ideally you should stand with your feet apart, at
about the length of your shoulders.
9. • Gestures play a very important role in conveying
meaning without using words.
• There are two types of gesture
• POSITVE GESTURE
• NEGATIVE GESTURE
10. Positive body gestures are a sign of confidence and security.
They are a sign of active participation and leave a good
impression. Positive gestures include:-
Walking upright
Shaking hands confidently
Having a pleasant face.
Nodding head is a positive gesture
A steady eye contact
11. Following negative gestures are a sign of insecurity and
restlessness. Such gestures show a lack of confidence. Such
gestures should be avoided in interviews or meetings.
Being up tied
Biting nails
Getting distracted
Faking a smile
Looking at something else while talking instead of the speaker
Proper etiquettes should be followed.
12. Appearance includes clothing, hair, jewelry,
cosmetics etc. It is not just the dress or
clothes that are important but also shoes,
hairstyle, perfume etc. A man is recognized by
his ‘dress’ and ‘address’
13. • Everyone knows that eye contact is equally important in
all face to face communication. When we look at
Somebody’s face we focus primarily on his eyes and try
to understand what he means. The eyes, along with
eyebrows, eyelids and the size of pupils convey our
innermost feelings.
14. • Whatever we feel deep within ourselves is at once
reflected in the face. It is very much important in
any face to face communication event. We
convey a lot without speaking a word. Every
facial muscle is an instrument of communication.
15. Effective body language supports the message and projects a
strong image of the presenter. Audiences respond best to
presenters whose bodies are alive and energetic. Audiences
appreciate movement when it is meaningful and supportive of
the message. The most effective movements are ones that
reflect the presenter's personal investment in the message.
16.
17. Never be up tied or stiff while making movements.
Avoid body language that may be misunderstood or look
unprofessional. E.g. Winking
A consistent eye contact is a positive sign and must be used
Avoid fiddling with things around. It may distract the
attention
18. Each body part movement signifies something and helps
in interpreting. E.g. Standing with hands on hips
signifies aggressions, nodding signifies agreement and
active listening, biting nails signifies nervousness.
Unlike emails, body language does not give time to think.
Hence they must be used appropriately
