Box Clever Events
Box Clever Events had 2,561 page views in the month of February and has 1,695
page likes from the same month. The Facebook page received 393 new followers in
the month of February as well. Box Clever Events is becoming more popular as each
month goes on however I believe they could target more of their audience by
conducting questionnaires for the local community and seeing how they would be
interested in taking part in a boxing club or event. The Facebook page is very active
and the coaches comment and interact with their students which creates a family
and I believe this aspect of the page would attract more of the audience because
some people might keep going to the club because of the people that are their and
make it a fun and safe environment.
To help promote/market Box Clever Events I have decided to create a website, promotional video and a Instagram
page because I believe using them platforms is the most effective way to reach the target audience. On the 20th of
June 2018 Instagram announced that they had just reached 1 billion users worldwide which creates a huge audience
that could be reached by Box Clever Events. In comparison to snapchat, snapchat only has more than 300 million
followers which shows that Instagram is much more popular and therefore implies there is more of an audience to
reach on Instagram rather than snapchat. Overall the most effective option would be to use Instagram to help
promote Box Clever Events because there is a lot of audience that is on Instagram.
The reason I decided to create a promotional video which I would post on YouTube is because YouTube is constantly
growing and currently has 1,300,000,000 number of people who use YouTube. This number is huge and create a large
audience that Box Clever Events aims to attract. Another reason I will decide to upload the promotional video onto
YouTube is because it means the video can be accessed by anyone, schools or colleges can access the video and show
it during presentations which will increase the amount of views on the video and make it more popular meaning more
people would see it and a lot of the audience will be targeted. Uploading on YouTube is also free and can be shared
easily which could increase the popularity of the club.
Websites are easily accessed in modern day because the internet is extremely popular in fact 55.1% of the worlds
population has access to the internet which means at least half of the world can find a website created for Box Clever
Events and view the website. This can increase the popularity of the club and help make people aware of the club.
Considering 55.1% of the world is the target audience I think it would be a significant idea to create a website to help
promote Box Clever Events.
Here is an example of a popular boxing website. From this website I have
discovered I don’t like the layout of the pages because I think there is too much
text, images and overall I just think the page looks too cramp and messy. If I was
to improve this website I would try and space out the information and only
keep the important text because the website looks like an eye sore as soon as
you click onto it because you don’t know where to look. However I do like the
use of tabs at the top of the page that the audience can use to get about the
website and click to the articles they are interested in.
This is another example of a boxing website which I think is spaced out and
has a calm tone to it however I think it lacks information on the first page.
The first page you click onto is meant to interest you into joining the club or
taking up boxing and I don’t think that this website does this. It has a gone
tone and the layout is nice but the lack of eye catching images and
persuasive messages makes the website look like a draft website and not
the final professional website.
This is an example of a boxing Instagram page and I think the page looks
professional and serious about what they do and some of the images that have been
shown are fun and silly which I think is a good vibe to have on the Instagram page
because it shows the audience that the club is serious but also has fun. This is
something I would like to include in the Instagram page I will be creating. Something
I don’t like is how they use their logo to show their stories I think it would be more
intriguing if they had a different image on each one to show a preview of that story.
This is another example of a boxing Instagram page and this one shows more of the
training that the club does and the victories that they have won. I feel as though
this Instagram page lacks the ability of showing the audience the build up to the
victories they win, they don’t show behind the scenes they only show the students
training and winning never those who haven't succeeded which I think should still
be shown to show that you can win ever battle but it’s the effort that is put into the
fight which makes it worth it. But overall I like the layout of the page and the action
shots that they have posted are very interesting and could definitely catch the
audiences attention.
This is a Boxing promotional and I really enjoy the material that they have shown within the
video and also the pace of the video. The pace is not too fast or slow which I think makes
the audience feel relaxed about what they are watching which could make them want to
take part in the boxing. The music used also makes the video seem more alive, the video
also shows that the club is for anyone of any age which I think is something I would like to
include in my promotional video because my target audience is anyone aged 6-80.
Here is another boxing promotional video however I don’t like this one because there is a
voice over in the background of the material that is being showed and I find it distracting,
also the music that is being played makes the video more distracting because you have to
listen to music, a voice over and watch the images and video being shown which I think is too
much. The voice over sounds really aggressive in my opinion and that is not a tone I would
want to show my audience because not many people will come to a boxing club if the first
tone you get from them is an aggressive one. However some of the training material used is
good and could make the audience want to take part in boxing and feel as good as the guy
who is training in the video.
The competition
Olympian boxing gym is a well known boxing club in Sunderland so I am going to do further research into
their marketing campaign to show how they gain popularity. Olympian boxing gym has 2,665 followers
and 2,713 people have liked the page which shows more people have liked the page compared to who
follow it. However their posts that they release only have likes between 1-10 which shows not many
people are active on the page. Olympian boxing gym have a podcast which they release but I am unable
to see if it is popular, considering they only post once every few months I don’t think it will be very
popular.
The audience
The purpose of this marketing campaign is to promote box clever events and try and engage more
of the audience to participate in the club and gain memberships. The audience ranges from males
and females aged 8-60 so this means to attract most of the audience I will create a social media
page which most teenagers will see because they are the age range that are most likely to use social
media. I will also create a promotional video to be shown across schools and online to reach the
audience. I am personally going to aim my social media, website and promotional video at
teenagers because I think that if you start boxing at a young age you are more likely to continue it,
also teenagers are much more easier to target and have a lot more free time than adults. Teenagers
also tend to experience a lot of stress so I think this is the perfect opportunity to target teenagers
because boxing can help relief anger, stress and help weight loss.

I conducted a questionnaire to find out what people think bout boxing and
why people do it. This will help me identify what I need to do to attract the
target audience based upon the most popular responses because then the
product will aim to attract the most amount of people possible.

From this questionnaire I have learned that

lesson which allows me to design my
promotional content based upon the majority
response.
From the questionnaire I have learned that the
most popular form of social media is Instagram
which has influenced my decision to create an
Instagram page for box clever events to reach a
bigger audience.
Here are some examples or my raw footage I captured when visiting Box Clever
event’s training days and event days.

manipulated in Photoshop to make
sure the photos and videos of the club
look as good as they can. This also
allowed me to remove any mistakes.

The reason I would release the forms of advertising in this order is
because the Instagram page can show the progress from the beginning
and end of an event and it will also show the journey of contestants
which will interest the audience as the weeks go on and excite them.
Releasing the website after that allows the audience to have more
information about what's going on and how exciting taking part in the
events can be which will hopefully engage the audience more and
hyping them up for the upcoming event. Finally 3 days before the event
date the promotional video will be released to show how exciting and
how amazing the atmosphere is during the events which will persuade
the audience to come see the event or even take part in the next one.

During the editing process I used the text tool to add a few subtitles into the promotional video to split it up and
make it easier to take in the information whist also show casing all aspects of the club. Another tool I used was the
razor tool which allowed me to cut the raw footage I had to ensure the content that was being put into the
promotional video was appropriate. I also used the razor tool to shorten the soundtrack I was using because I did not
want the same music playing throughout the promotional video because I believe this could disengage the audience.

Box clever events

  • 2. Box Clever Events had 2,561 page views in the month of February and has 1,695 page likes from the same month. The Facebook page received 393 new followers in the month of February as well. Box Clever Events is becoming more popular as each month goes on however I believe they could target more of their audience by conducting questionnaires for the local community and seeing how they would be interested in taking part in a boxing club or event. The Facebook page is very active and the coaches comment and interact with their students which creates a family and I believe this aspect of the page would attract more of the audience because some people might keep going to the club because of the people that are their and make it a fun and safe environment.

To help promote/market Box Clever Events I have decided to create a website, promotional video and a Instagram page because I believe using them platforms is the most effective way to reach the target audience. On the 20th of June 2018 Instagram announced that they had just reached 1 billion users worldwide which creates a huge audience that could be reached by Box Clever Events. In comparison to snapchat, snapchat only has more than 300 million followers which shows that Instagram is much more popular and therefore implies there is more of an audience to reach on Instagram rather than snapchat. Overall the most effective option would be to use Instagram to help promote Box Clever Events because there is a lot of audience that is on Instagram. The reason I decided to create a promotional video which I would post on YouTube is because YouTube is constantly growing and currently has 1,300,000,000 number of people who use YouTube. This number is huge and create a large audience that Box Clever Events aims to attract. Another reason I will decide to upload the promotional video onto YouTube is because it means the video can be accessed by anyone, schools or colleges can access the video and show it during presentations which will increase the amount of views on the video and make it more popular meaning more people would see it and a lot of the audience will be targeted. Uploading on YouTube is also free and can be shared easily which could increase the popularity of the club. Websites are easily accessed in modern day because the internet is extremely popular in fact 55.1% of the worlds population has access to the internet which means at least half of the world can find a website created for Box Clever Events and view the website. This can increase the popularity of the club and help make people aware of the club. Considering 55.1% of the world is the target audience I think it would be a significant idea to create a website to help promote Box Clever Events.

  • 5. Here is an example of a popular boxing website. From this website I have discovered I don’t like the layout of the pages because I think there is too much text, images and overall I just think the page looks too cramp and messy. If I was to improve this website I would try and space out the information and only keep the important text because the website looks like an eye sore as soon as you click onto it because you don’t know where to look. However I do like the use of tabs at the top of the page that the audience can use to get about the website and click to the articles they are interested in. This is another example of a boxing website which I think is spaced out and has a calm tone to it however I think it lacks information on the first page. The first page you click onto is meant to interest you into joining the club or taking up boxing and I don’t think that this website does this. It has a gone tone and the layout is nice but the lack of eye catching images and persuasive messages makes the website look like a draft website and not the final professional website.

This is an example of a boxing Instagram page and I think the page looks professional and serious about what they do and some of the images that have been shown are fun and silly which I think is a good vibe to have on the Instagram page because it shows the audience that the club is serious but also has fun. This is something I would like to include in the Instagram page I will be creating. Something I don’t like is how they use their logo to show their stories I think it would be more intriguing if they had a different image on each one to show a preview of that story. This is another example of a boxing Instagram page and this one shows more of the training that the club does and the victories that they have won. I feel as though this Instagram page lacks the ability of showing the audience the build up to the victories they win, they don’t show behind the scenes they only show the students training and winning never those who haven't succeeded which I think should still be shown to show that you can win ever battle but it’s the effort that is put into the fight which makes it worth it. But overall I like the layout of the page and the action shots that they have posted are very interesting and could definitely catch the audiences attention.
  • 7. This is a Boxing promotional and I really enjoy the material that they have shown within the video and also the pace of the video. The pace is not too fast or slow which I think makes the audience feel relaxed about what they are watching which could make them want to take part in the boxing. The music used also makes the video seem more alive, the video also shows that the club is for anyone of any age which I think is something I would like to include in my promotional video because my target audience is anyone aged 6-80. Here is another boxing promotional video however I don’t like this one because there is a voice over in the background of the material that is being showed and I find it distracting, also the music that is being played makes the video more distracting because you have to listen to music, a voice over and watch the images and video being shown which I think is too much. The voice over sounds really aggressive in my opinion and that is not a tone I would want to show my audience because not many people will come to a boxing club if the first tone you get from them is an aggressive one. However some of the training material used is good and could make the audience want to take part in boxing and feel as good as the guy who is training in the video.
  • 8. The competition Olympian boxing gym is a well known boxing club in Sunderland so I am going to do further research into their marketing campaign to show how they gain popularity. Olympian boxing gym has 2,665 followers and 2,713 people have liked the page which shows more people have liked the page compared to who follow it. However their posts that they release only have likes between 1-10 which shows not many people are active on the page. Olympian boxing gym have a podcast which they release but I am unable to see if it is popular, considering they only post once every few months I don’t think it will be very popular.
  • 9. The audience The purpose of this marketing campaign is to promote box clever events and try and engage more of the audience to participate in the club and gain memberships. The audience ranges from males and females aged 8-60 so this means to attract most of the audience I will create a social media page which most teenagers will see because they are the age range that are most likely to use social media. I will also create a promotional video to be shown across schools and online to reach the audience. I am personally going to aim my social media, website and promotional video at teenagers because I think that if you start boxing at a young age you are more likely to continue it, also teenagers are much more easier to target and have a lot more free time than adults. Teenagers also tend to experience a lot of stress so I think this is the perfect opportunity to target teenagers because boxing can help relief anger, stress and help weight loss.
  • 11. I conducted a questionnaire to find out what people think bout boxing and why people do it. This will help me identify what I need to do to attract the target audience based upon the most popular responses because then the product will aim to attract the most amount of people possible.

From this questionnaire I have learned that using more than 4 images will engage the audience more than using less than 4 images. From this questionnaire I have learned that weight loss appeals to people who are looking to box. From this questionnaire I have learned that most people are most likely to view a website which has influenced me to create a website to reach a larger audience.

From the questionnaire I have learned that the most popular form of social media is Instagram which has influenced my decision to create an Instagram page for box clever events to reach a bigger audience.
  • 14. Here are some examples or my raw footage I captured when visiting Box Clever event’s training days and event days. Some of these raw footage was manipulated in Photoshop to make sure the photos and videos of the club look as good as they can. This also allowed me to remove any mistakes.

Release the Instagram page Release the website Release the promotional video Event day The reason I would release the forms of advertising in this order is because the Instagram page can show the progress from the beginning and end of an event and it will also show the journey of contestants which will interest the audience as the weeks go on and excite them. Releasing the website after that allows the audience to have more information about what's going on and how exciting taking part in the events can be which will hopefully engage the audience more and hyping them up for the upcoming event. Finally 3 days before the event date the promotional video will be released to show how exciting and how amazing the atmosphere is during the events which will persuade the audience to come see the event or even take part in the next one.

During the editing process I used the text tool to add a few subtitles into the promotional video to split it up and make it easier to take in the information whist also show casing all aspects of the club. Another tool I used was the razor tool which allowed me to cut the raw footage I had to ensure the content that was being put into the promotional video was appropriate. I also used the razor tool to shorten the soundtrack I was using because I did not want the same music playing throughout the promotional video because I believe this could disengage the audience.
