Locations Research
1. LOCATIONS:
Northampton Train Station: EXTERIOR
- We will be using this location for the purple blind like structure to the building. This
is due to the music video and artist revolving the theme around the colour purple, so
this seems like a great location to film some shots.
Streets of Northampton: Town (St Giles Street, Abington Street, Kettering Road,
Wellingborough Road: EXTERIOR
¶ From the inspiration of Jake Bugg, we want to use several street locations
throughout Northampton. Filming on roundabouts, permission needs to be granted.
Abandoned buildings: EXTERIOR
- The use of abandoned buildings within the project will be greatly used as the
buildings can be used to establishing shots and for band profile shots.
Racecourse/Abington Park/Delapre Abbey: EXTERIOR
- We are going to use the vast array of space for cutaway and establishing shots.
These shots will also be used to get profile shots of the band members and Verity
herself. The song is also resolved around water, so there will be shots with band
members with water, or shots explicitly of water.
Green Screen Studio: INTERIOR
- The green screen studio will be used to get some performance style shots of Verity
and the band mates themselves with their instruments.
Barrack Road: EXTERIOR
- Where the old boots factory is situated, there are ideas of filming outside the
building.
Music Recording Studio: INTERIOR
- Verity wants shots of herself and band mates playing in the recording studio. This is
inspired by the Bon Jovi music video.
Verity’s house in Northampton: INTERIOR/EXTERIOR
- Verity’s staircases are going to be used for several shots, also a balcony as it has an
establishing shot of Northampton.
2. Mayorhold and St John’s Car Park Staircases: EXTERIOR
- If can get permission f=to filmin these locations, we will use the staircases for
montage and cut away shots.
Train: INTERIOR
- If can get permission, and are able to then we are going to filmon the train, this was
inspired by The Police music video.
