Accessibility Electrics Health & Safety
There are no long-term parking facilities located near
the entrance. There are however, thirty minute
restricted loading bays just off the alleyway entrance
to the studio. Taking this factor, into consideration it
would be advisable for the three actors to arrive
together in one chauffeur driven vehicle. The driver
could then return at the end of filming to collect the
cast. The studio is situated just off a main road
(London Road) and bus stop facilities are located near
to the entrance.
There are ample electric sockets in the interior of
the practice studio. They are located at every
potential filming point. On the other hand, there is
no exterior electricity supply. Therefore, I will
have to consider bringing an extra charged camera
battery with me, so that the continuity of filming is
not interrupted.
The alleyway leading to the entrance of Scream
Studios is quite hazardous as it contains several
concrete potholes. Awareness of this potential hazard
will have to be, brought to the actors and crew’s
attention, prior to their arrival. The studio’s interior
also hosts potential risks, with boxes, instruments and
electric cords laying around. Mr. Clark has ensured me
that I may push these carefully, all to one side and
bring this to the attention of my cast and crew. There
is however a qualified first aider on site.
Evaluation
(Space/Lighting/Sound etc.)
There is adequate space to accommodate the actors and filming equipment. Filming a selection of different angle and shot types in the corridor will be tricky,
However, this aspect can be eliminated, by opening an opposite practice room door. The required footage could then be easily captured; as the camera’s position
would be further away from the action. Exterior space is ample, with no opposing restrictions. Essentially, only natural day light is required for the exterior scenes.
The natural position of the sun for this time of year will not potentially interfere with the selected film location. Interior lighting within the studio can be controlled
to effectively create a required mood. Therefore, a required setting should be selected prior to filming. External sound pollution to be aware of is nearby
construction work, main road traffic, occasional emergency service sirens, the weather and sound distortion emitted from passing pedestrians. These are all natural
diegetic sounds that will add to the realism of the production. Interior sounds, are natural to the setting. However, I would plan to film at a quiet time to eliminate a
mixture of different music genres being practiced.
