Working Title:
A-Punk media production
Audience:
My audience age range will be quite short. It will appeal to people aged around 12 or 13 to around
30. This is a rough estimate but it will generally appeal to people who like vampire weekend or any
sort of indie rock. It will appeal to both male and female audiences as it is very relatable and not
gender specific. I believe social status is irrelevant in this case as A punk has been in some of the
most influential movies and tv shows in recent comedy history like step brothers, and the
inbetweeners. This media appeals to people who like indie comedies and indie rock, because in
the inbetweeners Kate Nash and the Artic Monkeys music also appear throughout the series.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
I have acquired the skills to edit media on Photoshop, I can recolour images fully and do many
other distortion techniques which change the picture. These skills will help me in future projects
and maybe even jobs that I may take after college or further education. Other skills I have acquired
are animating stop motion 8 bit quality video. I will use the stop motion techniques in my video
where I will incorporate people and inanimate objects so they look like their moving and it will
make the video more enjoyable as I will be taking ordinary things that would just sit in the back of
the shot move and make them more enjoyable to look at.
They only creative course I took in GCSE was art and that subject relied mostly on practical
work in books and writing essays on them which is very different to the Level 3 media course.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
My creative concept is a music video which consists of the A-Punk track by vampire weekend. This
song Is a cult classic rock indie song that nearly everyone who was around in 2008 will recognise.
The video will contain a range of effects like stop motion and face filters and maybe time lapses
and sped up footage to match the beat of the song. The video will start when two friends get back
from a night out and they sit down on the sofa and I want to incorporate face filters from snapchat
to make it look like they're seeing stuff. The song will start after a scene or two of this happening
and the video will follow the two as they encounter different things and how they go on a journey
through they're house. The editing of the video will line up with the beat of A punk.
I will conduct research and take inspiration from other indie rock music videos like Cant stop and
other media production videos with similar music genres.
Production Techniques (approx. 150 words)
Some special effects I will be using is stop motion capture where many photos are put together
and played fast one after another which will make the many pictures look like theyβre moving like a
real video. I will be using real people and also doing the effect on inanimate objects. Other effects I
will be using are quite easily accessible on YouTube and websites at ease and no cost like vhs
green screen filter and also a grainy and square filter to make the footage seem all and from the
early 2000s/1990s.
For the character to convey the look of a stop motion the need to move as little as possible and in
the right direction
