2. Process
I started to create the character with Photoshop. The size that
I used for the Photoshop file was (H)320 by (W)480 pixels.
I couldn’t find an exact match so I looked up an 8-bit Attack on
Titan character and I modified it to make it look like Connie. I
used the pencil tool to create the pixels. I also used different
shades to add complexion to the jacket, hair and boots.
I started to different steps within the
animation of him running, so I angled his
torso and his legs so he is in the correct
running position.
For the background I wasn’t sure on how it was
going to look so I got an image of an 8-bit forest
from shutter stock and I traced around the trees
and the leafs.
These are 5 Titans, I
tried to make them
look human but
since this is a
pixelated game it
was quite tricky to
do but this was the
best I could do with
my time frame.
This is the squad commander Levi
who is waiting on a carriage for
Connie’s return. Since I was running
out of time this was quite rushed so
that’s why it’s the same character
model.
3. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you
include in your final product?
• All of them because all I needed was to experiment on how to get the
character animation correct.
