2. Process
• We were given the task to
make certain experiments
which has to follow a ghost
like theme, so here's a little
drawing of pixel art to show
some spookiness. Using only
the pencil tool, I lowered the
opacity of the pencil tool to
make the ghost in the
background and even for the
lighting from the light which
gives it more detail. The
ghost also has detail on their
eyes as well. So really this
test was more mucking
around with the opacity
with both lighting, and
fading.
The hand that’s about
to touch the person is
detailed to make it look
like its gripping him
from the shadows.
3. This time, I made a small version on what the design sort of looks like. For the left
I first made it all by just using a small Canva size, but then I thought if I were to
size up the Canva size, I could fit in more detail for certain other things. So, I
saved it twice and made the gui way more detailed and this was super effective.
This will 100% be a method I will do in this project because I can now combine
bigger pixels to more pixels.
Of course, the characters will have more detail than this, but I looked up how to
change the canva sizes and figured out that I can make pixel art first, and then
make more detailed pixel art right after. However, if there is any problems with
the sizes of the characters, I could make a sprite sheet with every bit of the
characters movement.
The text will be
different as well
because it’s not
really fitting with
the pixel art style.
4. • And now here is a
quick experiment on
making an enemy
attack animation. In
deltarune, when the
enemy attacks, you
enter a mode where
you play as your soul
(the heart) and then
turns into a bullet hell
game where you
dodge the enemy's
attacks (so because
my enemy is a ghost, I
made its attacks it
saying Boo!) this is
something that I will
also include in my
project but if making
the characters and
small animations for
them becomes a bit
too long then this idea
might be scrapped.
• So, if I don’t get enough time to make the enemy's
attack, ill make the players attack and animate an
attacking animation to deal damage to the enemy.
(no matter what happens, this will be in the
animation)
5. • This was made by mistake because I forgot about
the ghost game experiment that we had to make
but this dose count as an experiment for sprites.
This will most likely be the design I will go for
when it comes to the final product (or even might
just look the same!) and there will also be other
characters that I have made, and my friends have
made (as in the characters I put into this final
product wont all be my ideas).
• Example
This is my character but there will
be some other characters.
6. Reflection
• What elements of your experiments will you include in
your final product? So, my first experiment was more
getting back into pixels, and the other 2 are going to be
like what I'm going to do for my final product but with
way more detail on the characters.
• Refer to the brief Ghost Game: So, this mini ghost
game I made on slide 3 and 4 is based on deltarune. To
the gui boxes, text boxes and the attack from the
enemy and it’s about a farmer fighting a posed body of
a ghost.
