2. What is Sentence?
A sentence is a group of words that
forms a complete thought.
A sentence begins with a capital
letter, ends with an end mark and
has a subject and a predicate.
3. A sentence can be divided into two halves:
• Simple subject or Complete subject
• Simple predicate or Complete predicate
(verb)
4. Complete Subject is made up of all the words
that tell who or what the sentence is about.
Complete Predicate includes the verb and all
the words that tell what happened in the
sentence.
Simple Subject is the main noun or pronoun
that tells whom or what the sentence is about.
Simple Predicate is the verb that tells what
the subject does or is.
6. Fred Mosby, a high school senior will be my new tutor.
Example:
Complete Subject Complete Predicate
My neighbor’s dog barked all night.
Complete Subject Complete Predicate
7. Carlo wrote a letter to his uncle.
Example:
