The Rise of the Nazi Party
Analyze the learner
The classroom contains 22 students. The gender makeup of the class is 12 boys and 10 girls.
The ages of the students range from 11 to 12 years old in the 6th grade. The class is somewhat
racial diverse. In class, there are 6 African Americans students, 3 Native American students, and
13 Caucasian students. The religious background of the class is made up of some from
Christianity or Agnostic. Students in this class learn through hands on and visual learning.
State Objective
Each student will understand the rise of the Nazi Party and the start of the Holocaust with the
use of class discussions, posters demonstrating propaganda, and multimedia such as QR codes.
The students will do this with a 95% accuracy by the end of the day.
Select Methods, Media, and Materials
Smart Board: The teacher will use the Smart Board when presenting the materials
Unit Plan PowerPoint: The teacher will use PowerPoint to give overview of unit.
Photoshop: The teacher will use Photoshop to present Holocaust poster
Computers: Students will use computers to assess Pinterest
QR: The teacher will use a QR code to pull up History Channel website
Utilize Media and Materials
The lesson will be both teacher and student center. The teacher will the unit with an overview
of the unit plan with the use of the Holocaust PowerPoint. From there, the teacher will create a
class discussion to assess the prior knowledge of the Holocaust of the students. The teacher will
then introduce to Photoshop poster and briefly describe it and the key words recognized on it.
The teachers will then get on to Pinterest and search for pins about the Nazi party. Students will
then present one of his or her pin in front of the class with the assistant of the Smart Board.
Once the presentations are complete, the teacher will scan the QR to be redirected to the
History Channel website where the students will watch a video about the Nazi Party. The
2. teacher will close the day with lecture and class discussions lead with questions by the teacher
and students.
Require Learner Participation
The students will engage in class discussion. The students will locate and present information
about the Nazi Party. The class will watch a video about the Nazi Party.
Evaluate and Revise
The teacher will assess the students’ knowledge of the material through class discussions and
the presentations each student will give. The teacher will assess the effectiveness of the
materials and media used and make appropriate changes for future instructions.
