Nazification
Analyze the learner
The classroom contains 22 students. The gender makeup of the class is 12 boys and 10 girls. The
ages of the students range from 11 to 12 years old in the 6th
grade. The class is somewhat racial
diverse. In class, there are 6 African Americans students, 3 Native American students, and 13
Caucasian students. The religious background of the class is made up of some from Christianity
or Agnostic. Students in this class learn through hands on and visual learning.
State Objective
Each student will understand the ideals of the Nazi Party and the use of propaganda to entice
new followers to the Nazi Party through the use lecture and examples of propaganda. The
students will do this with a 95% accuracy by the end of the day.
Select Methods, Media, and Materials
Smart Board: The teacher will use the Smart Board when presenting the materials
PowerPoint: The teacher will use PowerPoint to present propaganda poster
Pinterest: The teacher and students will use Pinterest to acquire Nazi propaganda
Glogster: Students will use Glogster to create individual propaganda posters
Computers: Students will use class computers to assess Glogster and Pinterest
Utilize Media and Materials
The lesson will be both teacher and student center. The teacher will start lesson of by
discussion the ideals of the Nazi Party, directed with student questions. Next the teacher will
illustrate what propaganda is and how the Nazi Party used it to bring in new followers to their
cause. The teacher will use the Smart Board to display Pinterest. The teacher will use Pinterest
to display actual propaganda posters used by the Nazi Party. From there students will create his
or her own propaganda poster with the reference of Pinterest. Upon completion, each student
will present his or her poster, describing how it is propaganda and how the Nazi Party may have
use that particular poster.
2. Require Learner Participation
The students will engage in class discussion and questions. Students will create and present
propaganda poster and give peer feedback.
Evaluate and Revise
The teacher will assess the students’ knowledge of the material through class discussions and
the presentations each student will give. When the student is giving presentations, teacher and
students will ask questions and give feedback about the Nazi Party and propaganda. How the
student’s answers will demonstrate the level of understanding of the lesson to the teacher. The
teacher will assess the effectiveness of the materials and media used and make appropriate
changes for future instructions.
