Republican Party
Lives near Clermont, Indiana. Has one office in Danville and one in Lafayette.
Was previously Indiana’s Secretary of State from 2003-2011
He is committed to reforming how Congress works- working to reform the culture of
spending , debt, and bureaucracy in Washington.
On day one, he voted to cut his office budget, and the office budget of every other
Member of Congress, by five percent.
“While this cut will not solve our budget deficit, it is an important down payment on my
commitment to solving our spending crisis.”
He strongly opposes the “irresponsible” legislation passed by Congress and signed into
law by President Obama, stating it expands government control over health care and
unreasonably restricts free market mechanisms.
“I will never forget the service of our Veterans and I will fight every day to make sure that
they have access to programs and services that actually meet their needs.”
Feels that education reform cannot come from the government, and that control needs
to be given back to teachers and parents
