Procedure:
1. Place 10ml liquid ammonia in a 250ml conical flask, fitted with a stopper or
with a cork.
2. To this liquid ammonia, add 2ml of benzoyl chloride in small portions with
contineously shaking with stopper.
3. The reaction become warm due to exothermic nature; cool the flask by
running under tapwater if necessary.
4. Continue shaking for 15 minutes more.
5. After the complete addition of benzoyl chloride, no traces of oil remains
and benzamide separate as fine flaskes.
6. Filter the product and recrytillize with hot water.
7. Calculate the percent yield after drying.
