Government Incentives & other <ul><li>Tax breaks. </li></ul><ul><li>Facilities (Free Trade Zones). </li></ul><ul><li>Programs with other countries (US FT) & leverage WTO. </li></ul><ul><li>Int. treaties via UN and other Int Organizations. </li></ul><ul><li>Leverage Sister cities (e.g: Amman-Chicago). </li></ul><ul><li>Set-up Development Boards (e.g: Singapore, India, etc..) </li></ul><ul><li>Encourage “innovation” and “creation” not just use (Consumer driven economy). </li></ul><ul><li>Solid and mature legal system (IPRs, etc..) </li></ul>

Venture Capitalists (VCs) <ul><li>Established: Tier 1 or 2 or even 3 (Sequoia, Kleiner Perkins, Global Catalysts, Red Point, Menah Ventures, etc.. </li></ul><ul><li>Company funded Ventures (e.g Moto Ventures, Cisco Ventures, Intel Capital, etc…). </li></ul><ul><li>New comers: Private Equity: Bean acquired 3Com, TPG and Silver Lake acquired Avaya, etc.. </li></ul><ul><li>Need Arab Banks, Investment houses to pitch-in the Large Capital into Hi-Tech Industries: create jobs/value-based Economy.. </li></ul>

Local Universities <ul><li>Develop curriculum to meet real life needs. </li></ul><ul><li>Assist Faculty in developing themselves and research. </li></ul><ul><li>Partners with other Int Univ (e.g: MIT ) </li></ul><ul><li>Need Govt support/Incentives. </li></ul><ul><li>Need private sector: local companies (e.g: AlBahith). </li></ul><ul><li>Need private sector: Int companies. (e.g: Motorola). </li></ul><ul><li>Need Banks/VCs to fund : raise funds (Endowment). </li></ul><ul><li>Create an atmosphere of learning/creating </li></ul><ul><li>Encourage and support IP (Intellectual Property). </li></ul><ul><li>Exchange students & continue to facilitate open discussions, round tables, etc.. (e.g: PSUT) </li></ul>
