December 2005 – To date Chief Accountant - Reporting to the Director of Finance
Overseeing the operations of the Accountancy, Accounts Payable and Payroll Sections as overall Section
Head;
Preparation of Statutory Accounts, Management Reports, Annual Budgets and Monitoring of expenditure
against budgetary provisions;
Responding to Audit Queries on financial statements and other statutory & special (performance) audits and
ensuring that Internal Controls are being applied;
Overseer of all correspondences between Banks and Kitwe City Council;
A Co-opted Secretariat Member of the Integrity Committee of Kitwe City Council;
A member of the Kitwe City Council / Kitwe Chamber of Commerce and Industry Liaison Committee, which
looks at the State of the City and Trading Concerns;
A member of the Kitwe City Council Governance Programme Task Team which seeks to market the district’s
work plans and attract private sector participation in the development of the City;
A member of the Kitwe District Development Coordinating Committee [DDCC], which fosters
Developmental Programmes in the District. As Accountant attached to this Committee, my tasks are:
Financial Desk Appraisal of Community Projects;
Teaching of Community Project Committees on the effective use of financial resources allocated to
their projects, including Bookkeeping procedures and Reporting Skills,

I was involved, through DDCC, in the implementation of the ZAMSIF Programmes by making
budgets for the District as well as making of financial reports on the Community Projects to
Zambia Social Investment Fund [ZAMSIF]. ZAMSIF was a conduit for the World Bank Funds,
which financed Community Investment Projects countrywide;
