Summary of Qualifications
Joshua Kashitala, (BADS, Dip. Clinical Medicine) is an upcoming health and development professional,
with over 2 years of experience serving in management and leadership position within FHI360 Zambia
project -ZPCTII. Mr. Kashitala has a strong track record of achieving results in health programs which
includes successful scale up of HIV/AIDS treatment, Male Circumcision, Public Private Partnership in
Health programs. Mr. Kashitala started his professional career as a Clinical Officer, and has an
undergraduate degree in Development Studies with Major in Public Administration from Zambia Open
University. His professional and academic interests cover a variety of areas, including health system
strengthening, health service delivery and evaluation research, and health economics and
development, HIV/AIDS prevention programs. He worked with public health institutions in Zambia
managing specialist departments such as TB/STI, Skin and ART clinics. Mr. Kashitala started his public
health work as a Research Clinical Officer with Centre for Infectious Disease Research in Zambia (CIDRZ)
in 2002, later serving as the Research Co-ordinator for HIV/AIDS intervention research for children. He
joined FHI in 2005 and has worked in HIV/AIDS intervention projects in Zambia. Mr. Kashitala is
currently the Senior Technical Officer- Male Circumcision & Public Private Sector Partnership program
under the FHI360’s Zambia Prevention Care and Treatment Partnership project [ZPCTII].

Overall technical leadership and management of FHI 360’s Voluntary Medical
Male Circumcision and Public Private partnership activities in Zambia including
developing and guiding project work plans,
implementation schedules, and

2009 – 2012 Provincial Technical Officer- Voluntary Medical Male Circumcision [VMMC] &
Public Private Partnership [PPP] sector, FHI360, Mansa, Zambia
Managed and implemented the VMMC and Public Private Partnership sector
strategies and all other programs technical strategies in line with FHI360/ZPCTII
project priorities. Oversaw program implementation, and provided technical
assistance and support to key VMMC and Public Private Partnership partners.

Managed and implemented the HIV/AIDS scale-up program and all other

build capacities in Managing HIV/AIDS clients. Co-ordinated all provincial
HIV/AIDS program activities with MoH and other partners.
