contractors and sub-contractors both technical and general advice. Ensure contractor “as laid”
records, test certificates and asset data records are provided in compliance with the DR guidelines.
Wrote gas design policy for commencement of gas connections contract.

Duties:
Managing the United Utilities GIRS for the mainland UK and gained approval for their 3 year
renewal assessment March 2006.
Writing/updating gas technical policies and procedures. Investigation of incidents and writing of
incident reports.
Management of all contractors competencies and qualifications.
Annual STC competency assessments of UU SCO personnel.
Ensure compliance with CORGI meter installation regulations.
Recovery of income from Gas Transporters, (asset values).
Process, monitor and check contractor “as laid” records are provided within agreed timescales to

depot)
Duties:
Managed 15 teams consisting of both Direct and Contract Labour teams engaged on district
distribution operations. Carried out site audits, monitoring standards of service, procurement of all
pipe materials, managing plant and equipment and NRSWA issues, identifying training needs of
Direct Labour and competencies of workforce, management and control of financial project costs.

Duties:
Writing and authorising Routine and Non Routine Procedures, site surveys, Operations Supervisor
managing both Direct and Contract Labour teams on Planned, Non Planned and emergency work.
Supervisor for leakage control. On-site technical audits of both contractors and direct labour teams
ensuring compliance with Codes of Practice, Company Policies and Procedures and Gas Safety
Regulations.
During my time with British Gas/Transco and also when working for Thomas Bermingham I
designed and installed LPG networks for both housing sites and non domestic properties
from the Gas governor downstream of the bulk tanks and also replacement schemes for
Networked LPG caravan parks throughout the UK and for a former colleague who moved to
Manx Gas. I also attended reported gas escapes on these sites.
1980-1985 Assistant Engineer, Distribution Planning Dept, British Gas North East
Duties:
Manager of 13 Technical and Drawing Office staff. Supply of management information detailing
workload and financial targets, manpower requirements to meet workload budgets, actioning gas
leakage control reports.
