Job Title: Intern Gift Host
Department: Retail Operations
Reports To: Gift Store Manager
Date: 04/23/14
Summary:
Assist in the Daily Operations of the Gift Shop
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
.
Perform on-line duties of the gift shop operation to include but not limited to: assisting in daily operations,
proper cash handling procedures, provide world class customer service, compliance with all safety
standards and adhering to all operating and merchandising standards
Accomplish the work activities needed to maintain and service of the facility
Ensure all staff members are following all policies and procedures
Ensure that all opening and closing procedures are followed and executed in a timely manner.
Proficient in all cash management policies including Change orders and Deposits
Complete Mail Order transactions and ensure product is sent out in a timely fashion.
Assist the Store Manager and Assistant Manager as assigned with the ordering, receiving, storage, and
logging of all inventory items in current Inventory Control system. Ensure all invoices as assigned are
checked and discrepancies brought to the Gift Store Manager’s attention.
Assist in completing consumer inquiries sent forward by consumer services
Assist in staff development including orientation and training and assist in weekly scheduling
Assist the Store Manager as assigned with the end of month inventory count including merchandise
variance reports and sales reports (IFS)
Maintain AP sites including DCIW and SAP to ensure payments are processed in a timely fashion
Work on special projects as assigned by the Retail Store Manager.
Qualifications:
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
2 years retail experience preferred
Ability to handle a wide variety of tasks at one time while serving customers
Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
Highly organized, energetic, team oriented individual with a positive “can –do” attitude and a strong
commitment to outstanding customer service
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to
successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to
enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Must be able to lift 15lbs. routinely and up to 50 lbs. occasionally
May be required to stand for up to 8 hours at a time
General cleaning and maintenance is required
Work Environment:
Store is open 7 days per week, morning and evening hours; individual must be willing to work nights,
weekends, extended hours and holidays.
