Senior Project Manager (Contract)
• Senior Project Manager managing multiple enterprise projects for interdisciplinary (IT clinical software
applications, infrastructure, and operations) in support of hospital initiatives.
• Ability to manage in a matrix organization; comfortable working with senior management, as well as,
all technical layers and multiple business areas.
• Ability to build and manage project plans inclusive of tasks, resource forecast, and cost.
• Assignment ended due to hospital budget constraints; several projects were cancelled and
contracting staff was let go.
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Managed three cross-functional projects; led teams of 6-20 project team members (CHOP employees
and independent consultants) with specific focus on Clinical software applications and Infrastructure
(EPIC and Lawson enhancements and upgrades, new “EMR” software application for automating
medical records to replace manual processing, etc.).
• Developed the project charters, project plans, status reports, supported the requirements
development, validated project deliverables to comply with the PMO, ITIL, and SDLC standards, and
supported the development/completion of the statement of work (SOW for the EPIC and Lawson
projects).
Independence Blue Cross 05/2005 to 03/2015
Senior Project Manager
• Senior Project Manager managing complex Avaya IP Telephony technologies and Web services
enterprise programs and projects; specializing in managing multiple projects simultaneously for IT
software applications, infrastructure, and operations in support of Independence Blue Cross
initiatives.
• Responsible for assembling project plans and teamwork assignments, directing and monitoring work
effort on a daily basis, identifying resource needs, etc.; led teams of up to 80 resources (IBC
employees and independent consultants).
• Ability to implement project management processes and methodologies (PMO, ITIL, and SDLC –
waterfall and agile) to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, adhere to high quality
standards, and meet customer expectations.
• Responsible for tracking key project milestones and adjusting project plans and/or resources to meet
the needs of the project and/or customers; coordinated communication with all areas of the enterprise
that impacts the scope, budget, risk and resources of the work effort being managed.
• Initially hired by IBC as a consultant (Senior Project Manager / PMO Specialist) in 2005 for the EDI
Redesign project, Member Portal enhancements, and PMO project related activities and training for
the EDI department for both Business and IT; I was later converted to an employee in 2007 based on
my excellent performance.
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Worked on several enterprise programs and projects simultaneously, each project varying in size and
complexity, involving one or many business and technical functional managers, cross-functional
teams, internal resources and external (vendor and off-shore) resources, costing fifty thousand to ten
million plus dollars, with durations of three months to two plus years.
• Interfaced directly with Business Users and Stakeholders and developed presentations for senior
management and lower management (VP’s, Directors, Managers, etc.); utilized Power Point and
Microsoft Project (Charts, Comparison Tables, Dashboards, and Milestones, etc.) for presentations.
• Performed project initiation, planning, executing, monitoring and controlling, and closure of projects,
which included tasks such as planning, status reporting, project team meetings, developing the
detailed project schedule, tracking action items and project tasks, managing change and impacts,
mitigating risks, resolving issues, executing project activities to project completion, planning the roll
out process, turnover process, training, project closure initiatives (such as client satisfaction survey,
lessons learned, and closure analysis), and documented and archived project activities, deliverables,
tools, and findings for future projects.
• Developed integrated baseline project plans using Microsoft Project (2010 and 2013), applying
estimating models, identifying resources and skills required, documenting estimating assumptions,
refining plans and managing performance against them.
• Provided consultation to business and technical functional managers to identify project
interrelationships that will affect portfolio priority and resource allocation decisions.
• Prepared feasibility studies, cost/benefit analysis, gap analysis, trend analysis, forecasting, and
provided budget information and updates for the Financial Business Case – utilized Excel and
Microsoft Project Schedule to present data.
• Captured and tracked program/project metrics and performance analysis - Clarity application was
used for storing the project artifacts and status reports, Microsoft Project for the project plans,
SharePoint for the IT development team deliverables, HP Quality Center and then ALM was used for
storing the business requirements, test scripts, test results, business approvals, and test metrics;
worked directly with the QA Test team, IT Application Development team, and Business team for the
Defect Management Process (i.e., assigning defects to the correct owners, setting the defect
priorities, ensuring that the defects are turned around in a timely manner and resolved, providing daily
status on the defects progress, and conducting the defect meetings across all test regions – Systems,
User Acceptance, Regression, and Performance).
• Managed project scope by assessing requirements changes, determining and conveying impact on
budget, time, and risk, and recommending best solutions based on understanding of business needs.
• Managed client expectations, anticipated operational and tactical risks, and tracked/mitigated them.
• Managed project team members who were assigned to me for various projects (included both IBC
employees and independent consultants), Technical Leads, Application Developers, QA Test Leads

Senior Project Manager and PMO Project Manager (Contract)
• Senior Project Manager managing new development and release projects.
• Responsible for the PMO project management of the Sarbanes Oxley project.
• Worked with technical Functional Managers at site to manage project team resources and PMO
issues, providing coaching and training as necessary.
Major Job Duties and Responsibilities:
• Consolidated and monitored all PMO project documentation for the Sarbanes Oxley project.
• Met with Business Partners and senior IT leadership as necessary to deal with escalated PMO
issues; served as a liaison between technical Functional Managers and Business Partners when
