system is a collection of multiple components such as the bus validator, electronic
ticketing machine, driver console and the bus management (backend) system.
Successfully integrated these components to Beep’s fare media (Beep cards) and its
central clearing system. This project covers both fixed fare buses (Phase 1) and
distance-based multi-fare buses (Phase 2). As of 2016, more than 70 buses in Metro
Manila have been enabled to use Beep card.

Project Manager / Reports and Dashboard Delivery
Lead
Led the Reports and Dashboard Delivery Team of Smart’s IT-Business Intelligence
department. This team is responsible for providing accurate, effective and timely report
requests as well as reporting solutions and automations to end-users. The clients of this
team covers different sectors from Smart, namely marketing and business analytics, sales
and retailer trading, network traffic and analytics, internal revenue and fraud
management, international carriers and settlements and finance.
• Oversaw a team of 35 personnel, which composed of service management unit
(project manager, business analyst, quality analyst) and reports development unit.

business analysis) as well as improving the reports development life cycle, reports
inventory and access management. Organized and created sub-teams that cater to the
business needs.
• As project manager, spearheaded the rollout of the new EDW (Oracle X3-2) through
coordination with various vendors, developers and operations team. Oversaw the
migration of all reports from the old EDW to the new one. Completed the actual
migration of reports with seamless transition and transparent to the users.
• Strategized and coordinated the loading of relevant data needed for reports
development into the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW). The key milestone is the
integration of Sun data which allows Sun data into Smart’s EDW for the first time
since the Smart-Sun merger and makes the EDW as the data hub for all Smart’s and
Sun’s reports.
• Planned and oversaw the creation of the reports cubes. This solution shortens the SLA
of report development in Oracle Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE)
from 1 week to 2 days, enables the self-service capability through OBIEE Answers to
3. empower the end-users in creating their own reports, and allows longer retention of
data in EDW (from 1 year to 3 years). Multiple reports cubes were built with each
specializing in its field from billing/charging to network traffic to sales/trade.
• Devised and implemented the production monitoring framework. This includes
monitoring tools that keep tracks of hourly trending of data being loaded, long running
jobs, parameter fallouts as well as the movement of data from lower tiers to the
reporting cubes. This framework also includes auto-provisioning of the business
parameters.
• Strategized and directed the development of the Top Management dashboard. Played a
key part in the design of this dashboard. Ensured successful rollout as well as
operationalization and stabilization of its backend system. A by-product of this
backend system is the Top Management KPI reports that is emailed daily at 6AM and
9AM to key stakeholders.
• Planned and led the automation of various reports to produce more accurate and timely
reports. One key report is the Eload Trade Flow Report. This report is translated from
being a weekly, Day-10 report that retrieves data from FTP servers into a daily, Day-1
report that loads from actual source systems. This enables the dealers, agents and
retailers to track their sales on a daily basis and allows the sales headquarters to
strategize and react faster to the trade market behavior.
• Led the rollout of Tableau in Smart. This empowers multiple departments such as
Business Analytics and Network Analytics to utilize Tableau as their visualization tool
and to make use of the Tableau server for their daily source of data and report
distribution.
