2. HISTORY
In Galicia, accordig to tradition, it was the Apostle Santiago, that the Spanish
people called Jacob, the son of Zebedeo.
The first years of christendom were awarded to the spanish lands for
preaching the gospel. However a few returned to Jerusalem.
3. RETURN TO JERUSALEM
When he returned to Palestine in
the year 44, Santiago was tortured

becoming Santiago de Compostela in holy
city together with Jerusalen and Rome.
The saint year it´s celebrated whenever the
festivity of the Apostle, on July 25, it falls
on a Sunday.
