Supercritical
CO2 Extracts
An accelerated world demands an accelerated lifestyle. This in turn has placed huge
demands on our health, which is reflected in our food habits. While we may have no
control over our lives, we can control our dietary behaviour. This is where science and
technology meets food and nutrition.
Super critical CO2 extracts is the answer to the growing demand for pure and natural
substances in the food industry. Supercritical Fluid Extracts (SCFE) are often used in
highly selective extractions like lilac, nutmeg and essential oils. Its non-toxicity and low
critical temperature makes SCFE great for aroma recovery, colour boosting and
pesticide removal. Known to be one of the gentlest extraction processes, supercritical
fluid extraction has garnered a lot of attention due to its effectiveness in producing
exceptionally pure and solvent free extracts.

Encapsulated &
Spray Dried
The right mix of flavours is integral to the taste of food. While cooking at home,
we carefully pick and choose ingredients to get the perfect taste and flavour.
However, the same attention to detail cannot be replicated in the food industry as
it caters to a large number of people at a time. The innovative processes of Spray
Drying and Encapsulation have helped manufacturers bring out the right flavours
in food and create a savoury dining experience. Encapsulation and spray drying
may sound like cold, cheerless terms, when in fact they are bursting with flavour.
Encapsulation describes a process of capturing active compounds of tastes in a
more stable form of protective flavour pockets. Synthite uses spray drying as an
encapsulation method to protect the inherent aromas, nutrients and other
properties of food from evaporation and reaction during storage and processing.
Our encapsulated and spray dried range is carefully processed to retain the
vitality of the plants and herbs. This allows for a controlled release of flavours at
the right time and enhances the shelf life of your product.

Essential Oils
The fragrant beginning of essential oils dates back to ancient cultures where it was
believed to be the soul and life force of a plant. Records describe the balsamic and
aromatic properties of essential oils as being used for religious rituals, cosmetics and
medicinal purposes. Essential oils are distinct scents of nature found in the seeds,
bark, flowers, fruits and other parts of a plant and are extracted in the form of aromatic
liquids. The warm and spicy aroma of essential oils has become synonymous with joy,
relaxation and an aura of positivity.
At Synthite we extract essential oils using steam distillation to ensure the potency of
the volatile aromatic compounds. The quality of the essence depends on the quality of
the plant, the agro climatic conditions and extraction techniques. Synthite attributes
utmost importance to proper harvesting and post-harvesting techniques. Our farm
tech division works closely with farmers to help them understand our quality
requirements so that we can ensure precise flavour characteristics of our essential
oils.

Tea & Coffee
Extracts
The warm flavours of tea and coffee have fostered relationships, fueled conversations and
spread cheer during dull and listless times. These ancient elixirs are grown across the world,
and inherit their taste profiles from their geographical locations. Rich in antioxidants, tea and
coffee are known for their energizing effect and have a fan following in every part of the world.
Synthite processes all types of teas and coffees: green tea, black tea, green coffee beans and
roasted coffee beans (arabica and robusta). In addition to the traditional solvent and water
extraction, Synthite employs highly sophisticated process technologies such as
Supercritical fluid (CO2) extraction,
Thin film distillation,
Spinning cone column,
Membrane separation and
Spray drying to obtain a wide range of tea and coffee extracts.
These include concentrates, powders, active substances (Polyphenols, Chlorogenic Acid) and
aromas/top notes. These products are used for a wide range of applications including RTD
drinks, functional beverages, instant mixes for vending machines, neutraceuticals and
cosmetics.
