An ultrasonic BTU meter uses ultrasonic flow measurement and temperature sensors to measure energy consumption in liquid heating and cooling systems. It can output measurements in British Thermal Units, Kilo Calories, or kilowatts. Ultrasonic BTU meters are available in sizes from 50 to 1500 mm and can have clamp-on or insertion installation. They measure flow and temperature accurately with no moving parts and provide isolated analog and digital outputs. Common applications include chilled water billing and leak detection in hot or cold water pipes.
