Links between each section of magazine
1. Task 1d:
The 3 sections of the magazine (front cover, contents page and double page
spread) are all linked in a number of different ways and it is clear that they all
belong to the same magazine:
Font - The font is consistent on all three sections of the magazine.
Although, it is subtle, it clearly shows that these sections are all from the
same magazine and makes it look more professional.
Masthead (on front cover and contents page)- The masthead is bright
and bold and is in the top left corner on both the front cover and the
contents page. This anchors the two pages together and reminds the
audience of what magazine they are reading.
Main image (on front cover and double page spread)- The main image
on the front cover (Dizzee Rascal) is also the main feature of the double
page spread. This is an obvious feature that links the double page spread
to the front cover. The double page spread is also linked to the contents
page because the main feature on the contents page is Dizzee Rascal.
Colour scheme - The colour scheme is black, red and white throughout
these 3 sections of the magazine. If the colour scheme was different on
each page, it would look unprofessional and the readers may not
remember what magazine they are reading if each page looks
completely different. The colour scheme also contributes to the
branding of the magazine and makes it NME’s trademark colours.
