5. Poster Analysis 1
The colours in the film poster for
Frozen are bright but cold themed as
that’s a large theme of the film. By
using brighter colours the poster will
attract it’s demographic of younger
children rather than adults. The
setting is in a snowy area and what
look like the protagonists have a
snowflake above them signifying the
film is themed around ice. The
created models from the film are
animated in a typical Disney style
and connote family, friendship and
teamwork, we see this as they are all
stuck in the snow together but are
still smiling and creating a positive
atmosphere.
6. Poster Analysis 2
The colours used in the
Shutter island film poster
are dark and shutout
depicting the unknown and
danger. Leonardo DiCaprio is
holding a match
representing loss of light,
vulnerability and fear, the
actor looks concerned and
worried and is surrounded
by darkness connoting he
may be in danger.
7. Poster Analysis 3
The colour scheme on the game
poster for watchdogs is dark and
depressing which could relate to the
story of the game. The props the
main character is holding consists of
a handgun and a phone which could
depict authority and also hostility,
the phone may represent hacking as
the character is covering his face. It
looks to be set in a large city with big
industrial buildings in the
background.
8. Soundtrack
• Clip 1 – The audio depicts
the elderly man sleeping
contently this gives it a
cartoon genre.
• Clip 2- The audio is of angry
bees/ wasps which may
represent the old man
getting into trouble as he
may be near them.
9. Shining
• The trailer contains a stereotypical romcom
directors voice over the top to give it a calmer
and more family friendly feel to it. It has been
edited so all the violent and creepy clips have
been removed so it is more comedic and
cheerful.
10. Scary Mary
• The creator chopped the clips up so it had no
context making it feel like a horror film due to
the fact the film has quite a few questionable
scenes. The creator also replaced almost all of
the original audio with stereotypical horror
trailer audio with whispering and loud noises
with a rise of tension to represent the fact
something bad is going to happen.

19. Clip Analysis
• The costume is classic star wars so fans know
who is who in the series (e.g. the dark side
using red lightsabres). The lighting is dark and
creates the impression the protagonists are in
danger although as it’s an animation there is
still comedy placed in the dialogue. The music
is more stereotypical star wars / sci-fi music
giving older viewers or just fans of the trilogy
a sense of meaning.
