The questionnaire is invented by the sir FRANSIS GALTON.(S.Pandya,
2010) A questionnaire is a research instrument consisting of a series of
questions for the purpose of gathering information from
respondents. Questionnaires can be thought of as a kind of written
interview. The questionnaire should include an introductory statement
(or covering letter) and contact and return information.
The introductory statement should include the purpose of the survey and
why it is important, so that the respondents can see that it is a worthwhile
exercise.
4. What is questionnaire
They can be carried out face to face, by telephone, computer or post. A set
of questions designed to generate the statistical information from a specific
demographic needed to accomplish the research objectives. A
Questionnaire is a research tools consisting of a series of question and
other prompts (facts) asked to individuals to obtain statistical useful
information about the given topic. The questionnaire is probably most used
and most abused of the data gathering devices.

The question are objective, with no clues, hints or suggestions.

provide the responses.

Questions outside the respondents experience should not be asked.
Questions which are likely to lead to bias in the respondents should be avoided.
Questions should be very clear and simple.
Avoid professional Jargans.
Abrupt ending of the question and Questionnaire should be avoided.

People can lie and answer the questions vaguely.

It may be useless in many problems.

Questionnaire are the main and easy way collecting data.
But the questionnaire must be highly reliable and valid.
Using standardised questionnaire will give us the appropriate data and
will yield a valid study .
One must follow all the basic guidelines and methods of constructing a
questionnaire and test it before using it.
