The document provides details on the style, colors, images, and sounds that will be used in a violent zombie shooting game set in a post-apocalyptic world. Dark colors like purple, red, and neutrals will be used to set a depressing and dangerous mood. Similar images show abandoned cities and basic health bars and weapons to provide examples. Potential sound effects like gunshots and knives will be created using found noises or recordings. Contingency planning, health and safety concerns, and potential issues are also addressed.
2. Style sheet-Colours
This is the basis of colours I will be including in my game.
These colours varies and consist of rather dark colours. This
Is due to my game being violent. The colours will help
represent the fact that it is set in a current apocalypse. This
sets the mood of the game to be terrifying and shows a
great depression within society. This depressing helps give
the audience a sense of what they need to achieve in the
game. It also creates a emotional connection between the
audience and game, making the game more motivating and
addictive.
The purples I have chosen helps display a mystical aspect
to the game. This helps add to the adventure side of the
game, which makes the audience want to play more to find
out more information about the tasks they need to complete.
The red I have chosen to display, helps create a violent aspect of the game. It also connotes danger which will
warn players where there will be hazards and where they will potentially be killed. This is an important colour
because it goes with the genre of the game. The genre of my game is a shooting game.
The neutral colours are there to help create warmth and to help deepen the darkness in the game, this is so its
more effective and creates the mood I am wanting to achieve.
The Yellows are there to create a sense of hope in the game. This is important due to the player knowing when
they have achieved something. This creates rewards for the game, which makes the audience gain a sense of
achievement.
3. Style Sheet- Similar Images to My Game
This style sheet shows similar images to what i am aiming
to create. The concept of these games are to survive by
attacking the zombies. This prevents your character from
dying/losing lives. This concept is the same as the game i
will be producing. My game will include multi player options
and single player. The scenery will be similar due to a
abandoned place/city, gives the best effect for the genre
and tone i want to create. The tone and mood i want to
create in my game is mysterious and scary. This is due to
my game being a shooting game. This tone will help create
the best effect for my game, making the target audience
appeal to it more. The art styles shown are different to what
i am creating. I am creating a pixel version of a zombie
game. As you can see on the images, they all use basic
health bars and similar weapons. The weapons shown are
both guns and a wrench. There will be a selection of
weapons so that you can collect resources on the way. For
example: bullets for the guns. These features are some of
the options that will be included in my game.
5. Sound Effects/Dialogue
Sound Effect How You Could Make It
Gun Shooting I could either locate the sound online and download
it, or I could create it on garage band by hitting a tin
pan with a pen.
Knife Slash I could create this on garage band or find a noise
online and download it. If I create it on garage band I
could record a knife cutting through cardboard.
Explosions I could create this on garage band by dropping metal
on a metal platform. This will create a loud crash.
Another alternative could be to find a sound online
and to download it.

7. Contingency Planning
Potential Issue Solution
Loosing your Memory Stick. The solution to this is to make sure you have a back up
copy on another device. For example: i always email my
work to myself and transfer it onto my laptop at home.
Computer Crashes. The solution to this is to make sure you are saving your
work through out. This is so if the computer crashes, you
still have all your work.
Not Saving Work. The solution to this is to save your work through out
Shortage Of Computers In The Room. The solution to this is to find another location to carry out
work. For example: go to the library.
Not Hitting deadlines. The solution to hitting deadlines is to do the work in your own
time. This means you can catch up and produce better and
more detailed work.
When producing my characters, It might not go correctly. The solution is to try different style arts and decide which one
you work better with. This gives you a chance to explore what
art styles work more effectively with your genre.
8. Health and Safety
Potential Issue How will the issue be
avoided?
Headaches. Take regular breaks to avoid headaches, make sure you
have medicine and a drink on you at all times. This is so
you can easily resolve the issue.
Eyestrain. Again, take regular breaks and make sure the brightness
on the computer is turned down. This is so its a calm and
dull light, which wont effect your eyes.
Arm, neck and back pains. If you are experiencing these pains, make sure you are sat
up right. This is so it doesn't cause any further damage.
Electric Shocks. If you get a electric shock, report this incident to your tutor.
Drink Spill. No having computers next to the computers that are
sticky. This is because its harder to clean up if the drink is
fizzy and will most likely cause more damage to the
system.
Leg Cramps. As you are sat behind a computer all day, you will become
restless and this can cause leg cramps. This is due to
being stiff, the solution to this is to take regular breaks.
Editor's Notes
Explore colours and pixel art styles similar to what you want to produce. Discuss these elements in relation to why you chose them and where you may use them in your project. Go over as many pages as you need to.
Mock up of a potential design using the colours and sourced images. Alter this slide to make it appropriate for your planned product types. Use the content established in your style sheet to do this.
