Drop shadow – I learnt how to use
the drop shadow when creating
the main masthead as it makes it
jump out at the audience to catch
their attention
Stroke – I learnt how to use the
drop tool to create the black
border around the text in the
coverlines as it makes them stand
out more rather than just the
yellow on the plain background.
Shape tool - I used the shape tool the most as it made most of my
boxes. For example, I had to add the box at the top and the bottom. As
well as this I had to add a white box onto the barcode to write the date,
price and issue number.
Wand tool – I also learnt how to use the wand tool as I got an image of a
lighting bold off google images and selected the bolt, then I cut it out
and coloured my own in so that I could add it to the ACDC logo as it is
their iconic symbols.
Use of layers – I had to learn the use of layers to make sure that the text
was always on top of the boxes and things like making sure the barcode
layer was over the box at the bottom with all of the band names with
them.

Importing from Word – I had to learn how
to import my article from word as when I
was conducting my interview I was writing
down on word exactly what he was saying.
Columns – I also had to work with
columns and had to make it 3 separate
columns as I thought this would be the
perfect amount and it looks clean.
Shapes – I used the shapes to create
things like boxes behind the exclusive text
to make it stand out a lot off the white
background.
Images - I had to learn how to use the
image tool to rotate and select where I
wanted the images
Text – I had to learn the text features as I
had to use new things such as drop caps. I
had to use drop caps to direct the
audience on where to read. This is to
make it easier for them and to make them
not get bored and enjoy the article more.
