Working Title:
Tiny TV
Audience:
My audience will be children between the ages of 5 and 15 and mostly female although possibly
still for some males. They will likely be of working class status. They would be interested in
children’s television including Adventure Time, My Little Pony and Spongebob Squarepants. My
project would appeal to these audiences as it would be about all the different shows out there at
the time that are targeted towards their age range and talk about them in different ways. It would
appeal to the females primarily as it would be more likely that the females would be reading a
magazine that includes all the different characters for a traditionally female oriented show.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
What was your advergame and how will it have a direct impact upon your project?
Throughout this year, I have spent a lot of time developing my Photoshop skills and creating a
poster/cover for a magazine would require me to analyse layout and location within a page, which I
feel that over time I may have learnt how certain things look better. Also, within my AS Media
Studies course that I completed, we were required to create a magazine, so I feel that I have
adequate experience and practice with completing this task. I will take in everything that I have
learnt, and translate that to create this project.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
My concept is to create a monthly magazine for children that watch a lot of TV programmes or like
a particular character from their favourite show. This will be full of competitions, games, and
articles relating to the characters from the shows that they are likely to watch. I will be including
lots of bright colours and pretty pictures that would be likely to interest the younger audience.
I will need to do research into the current shows that interest the age range that I am looking at
and making sure it is appropriate. This will also include research into what magazines there are
currently in this genre to ensure that it is adequately different to any others out there already. This
will help my product as it allows me to create something similar to an existing, successful product
but also allows me to make it sufficiently different at the same time.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
I plan to do a big final evaluation once I finish my work, but also I plan to do ongoing evaluation
throughout the creation and development of my product to ensure that throughout, I am doing
enough work and creating it to the best of my ability. This will help as it will keep me trying my best
and trying to keep it as the highest quality that is possible from me.
