PICTURE PARADE
Students will try to identify the picture of personal protective equipment that will be shown by the teacher.
C. Presenting examples/instances of
the new lesson
Why do you think it is important to know and identify the protective outfit for nail care? Do you know how
to use them? Can you demonstrate how each of them is used?
D. Discussing new concepts and
practicing new skills#1
Strategy: Activity-Based using the 3A’s
Group 1- Through a flow chart, discuss the personal protective equipment and the advantages of using it.
Group 2 – Discuss why does personal protective equipment should only be considered as a control measure
when exposure to a risk but does not control hazard?
Group 3 – Given the personal protective equipment, demonstrate the proper way of wearing and using it.
E. Discussing new concepts and
practicing new skills#2
F. Developing mastery
G. Finding practical applications of
concepts and skills in daily living
What are the other situations that we have to wear personal protective equipment?
H. Making generalizations and
abstractions about the lesson
Based on the discussions and activity done, how does personal protective equipment helps us to be
protected from hazard and risk?
What is the importance of wearing Personal Protective Equipment?
I. Evaluating learning
Directions: Put a check mark if the statement indicates the advantages of wearing PPE and a cross mark if
not.
1. So as not to generate a lot of dust, it may be necessary to wear it to minimize breathing in particles
while filing or buffing nails.
2. This personal protective equipment protects the wearer’s face from the heat of the sun.
3. Which of example of personal protective equipment prevents the damage of worker’s nails and
skin.
4. It will prevent skin from absorbing potentially harmful ingredients which may cause skin allergies,
irritation, or other related problems.
5. It will prevent breathing of air contaminated with chemical or biological agents.
J. Additional activities for
application or remediation
Directions: Put a check mark if the statement indicates the advantages of wearing PPE and a cross mark if
not.
1. So as not to generate a lot of dust, it may be necessary to wear a dust mask to minimize breathing in
particles while filing or buffing nails.
2. To protect the wearer’s face from the heat of the sun.

definition of the words: Hazard, Risk and Occupational health and safety (OHS).

Why do you think it is important to know and identify the hazards and risks? Do you know how to identify
hazards and risks?
D. Discussing new concepts and

Strategy: Activity-Based using the 3A’s
Group 1- Through a flow chart, discuss the elements that should be followed by an occupational health and
safety management system
Group 2 – Discuss the reasons why do we have to apply the elements that should be followed by an
occupational health and safety management?
Group 3 – Demonstrate how to apply the elements that should be followed by an occupational health and
safety management system through roleplaying.

.
F. Developing mastery
G. Finding practical applications of
concepts and skills in daily living
Cite situations orally on when to apply occupational health and safety management system.
Why do we have to recognize and identify hazards and risks?
H. Making generalizations and
abstractions about the lesson
Based on the discussions that we’ve done, how does the elements that should be followed by an
occupational health and safety management system helps in recognizing and identifying hazards and risks?
I. Evaluating learning
MODIFIED TRUE OR FALSE:
Directions: Write the word TRUE if the statement is correct and write the appropriate word for the
underline word to make the sentence true.
1. Occupational health and safety (OHS) is a planned system of working to prevent illness and injury
where you work by recognizing and identifying hazards and risks.
2. Identifying workplace hazards means looking for those things at your workplace that have the
potential to cause harm.
3. To avoid injury and harm to health of salon’s client, it is important that new or inexperienced
workers be adequately trained in OHS.
4. Nail workers does not have any obligation to their client’s health and safety.
5. Risk management involves identifying the hazards present and then evaluating the risk, taking into
account the existing precautions.
J. Additional activities for
application or remediation
Make a reflection about our topic by answering the three parts.
Part I: Things I have realized (attitude)
Part II: Things I have discovered (skills)
Part III: Things I have learned (knowledge)
