Targets were not quantified:
- No benchmark for Indonesia,
- the facility was renovated but
- modifications over the last 30 years were not recorded.
Management requirements:
Project duration:
- 2012 - 2014
- 2015 - 2017
8. Methodology towards Water Efficiency journey :
- Appointment of PT P.I.P.A. as water efficiency
expert.
- A roadmap was agreed end 2012 with
management and shareholders for a
significant water consumption reduction, in
line with ACCOR sustainability rating tools
(Planet 21).
- Comprehensive Water Audit allowed to
identify potentials, challenges and solutions
to reduce over-consumption and improve
water quality, in line with regulations.

28. STP retrofit:
Aeration tank
Construction defect did not allow the required aeration. Inlet were moved as far as possible from
outlet to allow new water to stay longer in the tank
Outlet
After refurbishment, S T P does not require any more chemicals
29. Kitchen effluents (grease) and B3 management:
Achievement:
- “zero-risk” methane gas emission
- Bacteria control
- Reduction of smell from the grease
trap, in the corridor area.
- a reduction of 33% grease & oil in the
effluents
- solid waste removal:
Feb 2016: 30 bags / day
Dec 2017: 10 bags / day
Steps:
- identify weaknesses in the system, due to aging equipment and
outdated technology.
- Monitoring of water production.
- analyze the system performances.
- increase the effluent water quality.
- reduce necessity to mix with clean water.

31. Training Session
Theory training Theory training
• Participants were introduced to:
• Various types of flushing systems
available on the market
• Strengths and flaws of different
systems
• Quality standards
• Spare parts availability
• Different sources of leakage in toilets
• Leak detection & identification
techniques
33. Several trainings on water
conservation potentials and
water stewardship
Internal and external:
• Training for “non-technical” staff, including
sales, security guards or masjid keeper.
• Several coordination meetings organized
with subcontractors to review procedures
and identify improvement potentials
• Swimming Pool,
• HVAC,
• Piping contractors,
• landscape

45. Tomorrow is NOW:
• Water Efficiency definitely bring financial benefits
• Water Demand management is the answer for:
• Over-consumption from big water users
• Deep wells usage
• Waste Water management
• Jakarta Water Security
• We want to cooperate with responsible building owners dedicated to
Jakarta Government efforts.
• Jakarta could become a “Laboratory” towards “Green-City” concept.
