(REDUCING THE RISK)
Car accidentwhilsttravellingtoThorndon
CountryPark - There couldbe a potential
hazard whendrivingovertoThorndonCountry
Park, in orderto getthere if it isduringa school
day thenI will have todrive ouractors.
Therefore,makingitmore eco-friendlyaswe
will be travellinginone cartogether.Interms
of a potential hazard, the hazardmaybe at no
faultof our ownbut a memberof the public
whomay not be fully concentratingonthe road
and whohas therefore notonlyputthemselves
indangeryet usas well. Although,atthe same
time we couldbe causinga potential hazardif
we are all talkingandhave the musicloud
whichinturn may meanthat the I may get
distractedmore easilyfromthe roads putting
us indanger.
Medium Medium To preventa hazardoccurring we will needtomake
sure that everybodyiswearing aseatbeltthatis
providedasthisisa legal requirement.Whilst
drivingtoThrondonPark andSouthendIwill have
an actor in the frontwhichis able toguide me
therefore reducingthe chance of theirbeinga
potential hazard asI can fullyfocusonthe road
ahead. We will alsomake sure that any
unnecessarytalkingbetweenall of usiskeptto a
minimumsothatI can fullyconcentrate and reduce
the chancesof beingdistracted,therefore the
chance of an accidenton ourbehalf will be low.
Although,if anotherdriverisatfaultthen
sometimesthere isn’tmuchwe cando e.g.if we
are stationaryandtheycome speedingbehindus
and don’tleave enoughroomtogetaround us.
Fallingoff abike – There couldbe a potential
hazard if one of our two artistsfallsoff the bike
whilstridingonitthroughoutourmusic video.
Due to there beinga shotof Erica ridingwith
the guidance of Tom as Erica is not a very
confidentbike riderthiscouldtherefore cause a
fewissuesespeciallywhen ridingoveruneven
groundthat none of us are aware of.This could
leadto one of our artist accidentlyhurting
themselves asaresult.
Medium Medium In orderto overcome thiswe shouldfirstmake sure
that where we are planningtofilmisflatandthat
we are aware of the hazardsaround the area in
whichwe are filming,e.g.glass anddiscretion.
Therefore,thiswouldreduce the hazardaswe will
know that the area issafe and if there isan
accidentthenbytakinga firstaidkitwhenwe will
be preparedto deal withanyminorissues.
Dog relatedincidents–Whilstfilmingwe will
needtobe careful of animalsarounduswhilst
at the parkas we are goingto encounterlose
dogswhichwill be hyperandenergetic
therefore needtobe aware of havingcontact
withstrange dogsas we do not knowtheir
personality.
Low Low In orderto resolve thisissue we will askthe owners
if we can petthe dog/and or use himwithinour
footage before we strike contactincase of his
personalitymaybe fierce.
Stingingnettles –WhilstfilmingatThorndon
Park myactors and I shouldbe careful of any
stingingnettleswhichare around.We should
be careful as althoughwe will be wearing
tights/jeanswe maystill getstungand
therefore come upina rash whichwill hinder
our filmingprogress.
Medium Low To control thisrisk we will keepaneye outforany
stingingnettleswe encounterwhilstfilming.
Therefore,if we docome acrossa patch of stinging
that we will avoidthisareacompletelytoprevent
irritationandharm.

Climbingatree – Due to a shotthat involves
Tom (one of our artists) whowill be filmedin a
tree.It isessential thatI make sure that he can
getup/downfromthe tree ok withoutslipping
and that he issecure as well asthe tree we are
usingissturdyand he will notbe at riskof
damaginganybones.
Medium Medium AlthoughI can reduce thisriskby helpingTom
climbup the tree andhelpinghimdownIcannot
guarantee thatthe tree will be safe. Therefore,
make sure that the tree we are usingissturdyand
evenafterourcontrol measuresthe riskwill still be
a medium, toresolve thisissue I willinformTomof
the potential hazardandof the effectsbefore he
climbsyetstill givinghimsupportthroughoutif he
doesstill decide toclimbthe tree.
Fallingintoalake –I am planningtoincorporate
a lake shotwithinmy musicvideo.The hazard
here is that an actor or I (camerawoman) could
accidentlyfall intothe lake due toa numberof
reasonse.g.,the groundbe slipperyornot
enoughshoe gripandtoo close the edge.
Medium Low In orderto control thisI will onlyfilmafewshotsby
the lake inorder to avoidthishazardfrom
happeningandinorderto not lose anyvaluable
time as a resultwhilstkeepingafairdistance back
fromthe lake.Thiswill enable me tocapture the
shotsI has envisioned.
SinkingSand- WhilstfilmingatSouthendIwill
needtobe careful of the ‘sinkingsand’this
occurs whenthe tide isout andthe sandhas
absorbedthe moisture leadingtocondense
sand wheninsertedwithpressurewillleadto
collapsingthiscouldoccurwhilstfilmingnearto
the endof the groynesleadingtotriphazards.
High Medium In orderto control thisI needtomake sure I have
strongand steadyshoes,alsocan notice the
patternsinthe ‘Mud’ creatinglinesmeaning
‘Sinkingsand’andIknow not to standin one part
for solong.
Dropping/breakinganyequipment –Whilst
carryingthe equipmenttobothThorndon and
to the drama hall and Southend. There isa
potential hazardwhichcouldarise if we
accidentlydropor breaka piece of equipment.
Thiscouldbe done if the equipmentisnot
distributedbetweenmembersenoughwhichas
a resultmay leadtosomeone not beingable to
carry all of the equipmentaswe are planningto
use several piecesof equipment,rangingfroma
tripodto a LED lightandlightumbrella.
Medium Low In orderto control thispotential hazardIwill make
sure that each groupmembertakesa bitof
equipmentwhistwe are travellingtobothlocations
inorder to reduce the riskof dropping/breaking
any equipment.Byagreeingtotake twobitsof
equipmenteachitmeansthatas a resultthatno
one shouldbe weigheddone,therefore reducing
the risk.However,issomeone doesaccidently
breaka piece of equipmentthenwe will take the
appropriate measuresinordertocleanupany
messas soonas possible andtonotifythe teacher
of ouraccidentas a result.Therefore,leavingno
hazard to anotherpupil ormembersof the public.
Fallingof the stage – We are planningto filmin
the drama hall for close upshotswitha moving
image (gif) backgroundinordertoget different
seasons/imageswhichare more relatableto
certainlinesof the lyrics.
Thisis a hazard as we have stackedtwostages
on topof each other. These stageshave sturdy
basesbutas we are positioningbothactorson
the stage there is a hazard thatthere may not
be enoughroomwhichmay make someone fall
off by accident.
Medium Low In orderto control thisparticularhazard we have
made sure that the stage isfullysecuredandis
sturdyenoughto positionbothof ouractors on.In
orderto helpthemgetup/off the stage we will
offerthema handgettingdown.Thiswill prevent
themfalling/trippingwhengettingoff astheywill
have the membersof our groupto leanon.
