This document identifies and proposes solutions to risks associated with filming a music video scene in a forest location. It outlines four main risks: 1) Tripping or falling into ditches at the campfire scene location. The risk will be minimized by making all crew aware of ditches and filming away from them. 2) Falling into a nearby river at the campfire scene. The risk will be reduced by keeping all crew well away from the river and filming in a location not close to the river. 3) Slipping or falling in muddy bog areas during a walking scene. The risk will be decreased by using waterproof footwear and finding an alternate, less muddy filming location if possible. 4) Interactions with wild horses and

The first risk would be the ditches there are
in the forest for my campfire scene.
When filming, as for this scene there will be
quite a few cast members, one of them, or
me filming could trip on the ditch or fall
into it. This could cause them to injure
themselves such as getting a twisted ankle,
or could damage the equipment if I fell in
while using it.
To make sure that any of the cast members
or me don’t fall or trip and hurt ourselves or
get any of the equipment damaged I will
make sure before we start filming that
everyone is aware that the ditch is there
and make sure I film away from it so
nobody comes in direct contact with the
ditch to minimise its risk.
The second risk will be the river at the
campfire location.
Again, in this scene there will be quite a few
cast members around. The river could be a
risk as if somebody gets too close to the
edge and trips or slips down the bank they
could end up in the river. This could cause
serious injuries to someone. Also, if I were
to fall down while using the equipment, the
equipment getting wet would completely
ruin it.
To make sure nobody injures themselves
from the river or no equipment gets
damaged by the river I will again, make
sure that everyone knows that it is there
and to stay well away from it, as well as
making sure I do the filming in a location
that isn’t too close to the river and where
the river isn’t too much or a risk to the cast
or equipment.

2. Another risk would be the bog on the floor
at the forest for the walking scene.
When I am filming the dog walking part of
the music video, the area could have some
mud and bog there due to the weather.
This could cause one of the cast members
to slip or fall, and injuring themselves.
The first thing in which I will do is make
sure myself and actors are wearing
waterproof and sensible footwear to
prevent them falling or slipping as much as
possible. I will also pre-warn them to
ensure when walking through the mud they
are being careful.
However, on the day if I find another
section of the forest that is nearby and isn’t
as muddy I shall use that to minimise the
chance of having any injuries.
A further risk that could arise, again in the
forest is the wild animals. In the forest I am
planning to use for both the walking and
campfire does have wild horses and cows
walking around, as well as being a place
many people come horse riding.
If we are not careful, and get too close or
are too loud around the horses it could
cause them to become spooked and as a
result kick out or charge, which could be
serious if someone were to get hit.
To prevent this happening as much as
possible I would ensure that I was always
on the lookout for horses and cows and
that if I see any at all, everyone is aware so
we can keep our distances and keep
quieter to prevent scaring them.
