2. ❖ This is the establishing shot, here we are presented with the artist in
the foreground. In the background of the video we can see the title of
the song and the name of the artist. The colouring of the scene gives
us quite a romantic atmosphere - which perhaps links with the song.
The lighting is quite dramatic, and perhaps adding drama within the
pathetic fallacy - giving the audience a tone and depth to the song.
3. ❖ The shadows are quite dramatic, which adds to the
emotion of the video.
4. ❖ Here the character is singing, this video is a combination
of narrative and performance. This gives a more
personal feeling towards the character, as if he is singing
from a personal experience.
5. ❖ The lighting is really important within this scene, as only
his face is lit up as is the most important feature as it’s
expressing his emotion.
6. ❖ Here is a typical date - a cinema movie. The female
character is watching the film, whereas he is looking at
her.
7. ❖ This is a stereotypical scene within a romantic scene, it shows
the male character making a move on the female using the ‘arm
movement’. This music follows a lot of stereotypical conventions
- however I think this emphasises their relationship to the
audience, and the stages a relationship goes through.
8. ❖ I like the transition that this sequence presents, as he throws a
bag down which then carries them to the next scene, this is also
repeated with the picnic basket texture. I think this is a really
effective transition and could be used within our own video for
example between the young male and older male - perhaps using
their hands across the camera.
9. ❖ Being on a roller coaster could represent the ups and
downs of a relationship, and the different things couples
have to over come.
10. ❖ This shows perhaps an obstacle within a relationship, for
example Olly’s character looks quite out of place
whereas she looks quite happy.
11. ❖ This sequence of shots presents how quickly time goes.
I like the way the two of them stay the same whereas the
background is what is moving reprinting time. I think it’s
a really effective way of showing that.
12. ❖ Here shows how time has moved forward yet the couple
are still at ease and still happy.
13. ❖ I like the use of rhythm within this sequence, for example
when he crushes the grape the beat changes. They’ve
managed to match the beat with action within the film. I would
like to create similar within my sequence as I think it’s really
effective, and helps captures the audiences attention.
