• Here is an establishing shot of the location of the shot. The camera moves slowly around the areas,
to focus into an innocent character. A deer is the pray, but who is the hunter? This camera angle
could suggest a slight point of view shot, we are over looking the animal in potential danger. The
editing has made the shot quite dark and mystical, helping emphasise the mysterious qualities to
the film. There is a combination of diegetic and non-diegetic sound throughout this opening, you
can hear the rustling of the dear with the narrators voice overlapping the sounds. Her voice is quite
mysterious, which adds to the ambience of the scene.

• Here you can see a innocent animal, drinking out of a pool, in the middle of the woods. The camera
angle perhaps shows a point of view shot, as we are over looking the deer. There is also a slight
pathetic fallacy effect, as the weather is quite gloomy - which gives the audience a mysterious feel.
As the dear hears a noise, the music tempo changes to fit with the running and action of the shot.
The shots are cut together with a montage effect with the possibility of a an eyeliner match as we
see a slight point of view shot even though the camera is tracking the action simultaneously.

• This is quite a dramatic shot, as it shows her outline of herself rather than revealing any features.
This highlights where the shots are located, and what the scene is like. This close up shows the
characters quite dry emotion, and this is emphasised by her hair drifting in the wind, it’s out of her
control, much like her emotions. There is an overlay of diegetic or non-diegetic music in the
background, a soundtrack, which could be being played in the car, however when the scene moves
on to a plane it then transfers to definitely being diegetic.

• Here the title is introduced. There is quite cool tone to this, as the font is edgy and sharp,
juxtaposed with the merging background woody scene. The diegetic music continues to emphasise
the tone, and reflect it onto the audience, giving them a sense that this film is quite grown up and
has some realistic features swerved in.

• Here we are introduced to some of the characters, in a medium - waist up shot. This shot is also
quite a wide shot, as we have fitted many characters in the same shot. She seems to fit right in
alongside a fellow aged character, yet still the surroundings is quite cold and daunting. You could
also say that the weather reflects the pathetic fallacy in the shot, however is juxtaposed with such
happiness in being greeted by old friends and a home coming presents - presents represent
happiness, which in the beginning of this seen, she didn’t seem to happy when describing her past,
which is understandable.
