2. •To start off creating my contents
page, I got a new A4 page and
edited it so it had 3 columns,
similar to other contents pages.
•I did this by going through: FileNew-A4 paper- 3 columns. It then
gave me these guidelines so
everything would fit onto the
page.
•To create a background for the
page, I selected the shape tool
and chose a square.
•I drew the square so it fit within
the guidelines and then chose a
colour that would look good for
the page.
•Doing this makes the page look
more colourful and nicer to look
at.
3. •Next I decided to add some more
colours to the page by putting a blue
header and footer.
•I did this by once again using the
shape tool, I chose a rectangle and
drew it in the right places. I left a
small gap at the top because I
thought it looked good like that.
•I chose a dark blue for this.
•In the small gap I left at the
top of the page I added some
text.
•To do this I selected the text
tool and drew the box, In this I
wrote the title of the
magazine ‘The Priestley
insider’ I made this title white.
•I also added the title
‘Contents page’ but into the
dark blue header area, I made
this white so it stands out.
4. •Now I moved on to adding text and
information to the contents page. I
created 2 texts box, one for the page
numbers and the other for the
articles and information.
•I made the titles size 22pt, White
and Ariel round Bold, so it stands out
against the writing , which I made
8pt, Black and just Ariel font.
•The numbers are size 18pt and
black, bold, Calibri font
•I did this once again for the next set
of information and articles. I used
the same fonts and colours and
positioned them near enough the
same.
•I made sure that all of the text fit
within the text box and also didn’t go
outside of the space given for that
column
5. •I repeated the text boxes again for the
final column.
•There are 15 articles all together and I
ensured they all fit together in the
guidelines given for the page.
•Finally I added 3 pictures I had
taken especially for this contents
page, because they relate to one
of the articles.
•To add these pictures I had
selected the insert image toolImported my image- adjusted the
picture until the section I wanted
filled the space drawn out. I
clicked off it and had the picture.
•I positioned them at the bottom
of the page because I had lots of
space.
6. •This is my finished copy of my
contents page.
•I think it is quite good and goes well
with the front cover as I have used
the same colours of: Blues and
White.
•This final copy of the page, looks
quite similar to the one I planned out
for my rough copy.
•The only thing I have changed is that
I have added the pictures at the
bottom.
•Originally I was just planning on
leaving it blank but it looked quite
boring.
•Also on my original plan, I had only
drawn out having 10 articles showing
but I know have 15. The layout of
each article is quite different to how I
planned but I still think it matches it
quite well.
