6. Phonics Screening Check
Is in June.
Is seen by the children as a normal part of the
school day.
They will be asked to read real and pseudo-
words
Pseudo-words are words that the children can
decode using their phonic knowledge.
They are clearly labelled with a picture of an
alien.
We will have practised these a lot with the
children.
7. Medication
To be given to the office.
Prescription medication must be given in
original packaging and should be clearly
named.
A letter clearly stating dose and times is
necessary.
8. Miscellaneous
Please keep a full P.E kit in school, we will
send it home at half term.
Book bags with Reading Journal and reading
book should be in school every day.
Named water bottle in school.
Indoor shoes to be kept in school, these
should be easy for the children to put on.
Name everything!
9. Maths Evening
Maths Workshop for Parents
This year, I will be running workshops for
parents looking at ways to support your child
with their maths. The first workshop will take
place on Wednesday 12th
October from 2.30pm to 3.15pm in
the school library. We will be looking at
learning number facts. This workshop is
suitable for parents of children from Year 1 to
6 and everyone is welcome, whatever your
level of confidence in maths.

They are 2.30-3.15 in the library.
