Homework! <ul><li>Homework will be assigned in Spelling and Math every Monday through Thursday. </li></ul><ul><li>Your child should bring his or her math homework back each day to be checked by the teacher. </li></ul><ul><li>Spelling Binders will be brought home each Monday and returned on Friday. </li></ul><ul><li>We will model how to do Words Their Way homework activities after the presentation. </li></ul><ul><li>Thank you for your support with homework! </li></ul>
  6. 6. Folders, Folders, Folders! <ul><li>Daily Take Home Folder--This folder will contain any completed work, daily communication, and calendar. This folder should be returned to school each day. </li></ul><ul><li>Friday Folder--white folder with important school and grade-level notes as well as weekly progress report to note learning behaviors. </li></ul>

  10. 10. Flexible Grouping <ul><li>As your child grows academically, he or she may fit in better with different reading or math groups outside of the homeroom placement. Therefore, your child may be taught by another first grade teacher for math or reading. </li></ul><ul><li>We will exercise flexible grouping throughout the year to ensure that your child receives the appropriate levels of instruction at all times. </li></ul>
