2. Question 1
Bloom’s three domains of educational activities outlines their categories and how
they are applied in learning and teaching. Therefore, it can be referenced in
twofold; (i) It can stimulate the teacher’s to help the learners acquire skills at all
the three levels laying the proper foundation for higher levels by assuring mastery
of lower levels of objectives (ii) It can also provide a basis for developing
measurement strategies to assess learner’s performance at all levels and it starts
with the formulation of objectives.
Make use a wheel as a visual scheme to diagram levels of Blooms Taxonomy and
relates them to key words and to materials that can be used to measure various
levels of performance. [15]
4. Question 2
The subject Methods theory;
Subject methods theory is basically based on the certain ways, strategies and techniques
which are used upon the teaching process of that particular subject, a proven step by step
instructions that would maximize the teaching reflectivity, every subject has it’s unique
way and its perfect method which is effective for it, such science can’t be taught the same
way as a language subject, nonetheless this theory doesn’t consider general facets that
could contribute to the teaching effectivity, achievements , manners and encouragement
are not considered, above all this theory is very slim to address the overall specialist roles
of teaching effectiveness.
The behaviorist theory;
This theory is all about how teachers conducted them selves towards learners in a way
such they create conducive environment that would maxim the teaching effectiveness by
applying techniques such as operand conditions, by using learning materials,
transmitting carefully planned lessons, the way of rewarding and punishment allocation
to learners. The impediment in this theory is that it does not promote flexibility in the
classroom the teacher is the only one who is in control as well as the learners are
inactivated as this theory focus more on teachers.
The teaching skills theory
5. This theory focuses on how professional the teachers is in classrooms and the proficient
skills they possess across a wide range of subjects, such as the way they interact with
the learners either by asking questions, or giving clarifications and using presentation
methods as well as the whole classroom management at large, however the holistic
nature of teaching being not be applied, it is also too specific and it might fail when being
used in further process of teaching effectivity
2.2 Which of the theories of Teaching & Learning would you use, considering
your major subjects? Justify your choice of the Theory, in relation to your major
subject. [5]
The subject method theory
I would leather focus on the subjects proven step by step instructions and genuine
methods of a subject in my case it would maximize the teaching reflectivity if I apply more
on science teaching criteria then trying to combine different facets which would
complicate the process and this theory encourages a teacher to instill certain ways of
doing things in the classroom and the learners will know and be applied this methods
scientifically.
